Cambridge Dormitory Dorm Reviews at Auburn

I was supposed to live in Cambridge for my first year at Auburn. And the day I was supposed to move in, they closed the dorm for the entire year because of mold and water damage. We already had a pushed back move in date because of the damage but then they closed it for the entire year.

It was pretty good over all, but I happened to be there the year that we were masked up for covid, so it was difficult to meet anyone else living there. They were also beginning to build the new hotel next door, so we had no parking lot. Other than that though it was a great place to live.

I really enjoyed my time at Cambridge. It is really nice because you only share the room and the bathroom with one other person. The rooms are a decent size. I did not feel like my stuff was all up in my roommates business on her side of the room. As well it is nice because the sink is in the room instead of the bathroom so that way you can use the sink if your roommate is in the shower for example. The doors/walls are pretty thin so it is easy to hear people in the hall if they are talking or walking by your room and you can hear people in other rooms sometimes if they are talking super loud but overall the noise was not too much of a problem The location was pretty nice as well. The dorm is super close to Publix and the library but a little farther away from the main dining hall, the rec and the football stadium and basketball arena so you will be walking a lot but its not too bad once you get used to it. I would 100% recommend this dorm.

It is very loud at night, because there are a lot of immature students that like to party. However, the location of this dorm is very convenient and is overall not a bad place to live. The only inconvenience is there is no parking lot for the time being due to nextdoor construction.

I choose to live in Cambridge because it is the only dorm that each room has its own bathroom on campus that is not extremley expensive. However, Cambridge is SUPER far from everything. we were told all cambridge residents had parking at the residence hall when we applied however, a week prior to move in we were told that we no longer would and had to park 30 mins across campus. My room has had a total of 4 leaks this year. one time our bathroom and entire room was flooded. The laundry here is a mess... all our dryers are broken and maitence refuses to fix them leaving all 500 residents to maybe one working dryer. oh and i didnt even mention the multiple times cops have been called because of suspicious activity in the parking lot. If you enjoy inconsistency and bad surprises such as roaches and water leaks in your live in cambridge

I enjoyed living in Cambridge. I lived there before the construction of the culinary school. Before construction, the commute and location were not terrible. After, it was more of a hassle to get to campus. I loved having a vanity outside the shower and toliet. Not having to share a bathroom with the adjoining room.

My experience at Cambridge was overall extremely positive! I loved the environment and it was perfect for my Freshman year. The rooms are huge compared to others and you don't have to share a bathroom with 4 people- which is a plus! I always felt safe and there was always staff on duty. It was a very clean environment and the maintenance staff was especially kind/helpful! I made so many great memories there and the RA's were excellent about hosting events and being approachable.

Cambridge was close to campus and all of the downtown restaurants. It was pretty quiet most of the time as well. I didn’t have any serious issues but sometimes the maintenance could be annoying. All in all i would recommend.

I love it! The noise can be a bit distracting if im doing work, but other than that and the parking situation; which requires us to park across campus in RO and a mile walk home. Besides that it is amazing.

Cambridge was a perfect fit for me. I am more introverted but wanted to the dorm experience my freshman year of college. Only having to share a bathroom with my roommate allowed my quiet time. If I wanted to be social and meet with the friends I've already made or make new friends I would hang out in the common areas that were perfect for mingling or studying. I loved Cambridge! I thought I wanted to live in the quad, which is Auburn's most popular dorm. While my friends that lived in the quad enjoyed their experience immensely, Cambridge was meant for me. I got the perfect balance. It is the most underrated dorm on Auburn's campus.

Overall, Cambridge Dormitory is a very nice place to live in. Each floor has its own common room that is a nice spot to hang out and do homework in and then there is a larger common room on the first floor with games, vending machines, etc. The laundry room is a bit small, but it is free for Cambridge residents and is usually not too busy unless it is the weekend. The room setups are also very nice as it is only two people and a bathroom that they share. My favorite part is that the sink is outside of the shower room in the main room so that one person can be getting ready while the other is showering. There are also walk-in closets with built-in shelving and shoe storage, large drawers under the beds, and a large mirror on the bathroom door so you do not have to bring any of those things. The floor is carpeted, but I brought my own rug and really enjoy how it makes the room look. Cambridge has pretty large rooms so I have not had any problems finding places to store my stuff. I also love the location because it is very close to downtown Auburn. This makes it easy to go get some pizza or coffee downtown as it is a five-minute walk away vs. having to walk further from the other dorms.
