Allen Residence Hall Dorm Reviews at Western Carolina

I lived in the Allen dorm and it was a great experience for me! Compared to my last dorm being Norton, I thought the walls were sound proof and it was a very quiet dorm. The rooms were spacious and I just overall loved it!

Considering the building was fairly new, the construction, maintenance, and the overall cleanliness of Allen was great. The only issue with Allen was the location. Personally, I didn't enjoy the longer walk from the dorm to the academic buildings and it was a struggle being able to determine what time was best to leave, in order to be on-time to class.

I am a freshman currently living in Allen Hall overall my experience has been very good. The only low score I gave was the common areas that was mostly because the virus has made them shut down the common areas. Although it is a little farther from the center of campus the walk is nothing bad and it is placed next to brown which has dining and a small convenient store.

Allen is the newest residence hall on campus for incoming freshman. It is a very nice residence hall with plenty of accommodations for students that are living there (laundry, bathrooms, kitchens). Housekeeping does a excellent job keeping the building clean, especially during our current COVID situation.
