Nelson Hall Dorm Reviews at ACU

I have enjoyed my stay at Nelson Hall the residence and staff are all very friendly and welcoming. I have a decent size room at a reasonable cost, it is the cheapest first year female residence hall on campus. It is slightly outdated compared to newer ones but has everything needed.

Nelson Hall has been an amazing community, so far I am greatly enjoying my time here not only for the spacious rooms and nice bathrooms but the friendly nature of the people around me. The staff are also very supportive and patient I only have kind words for every person staying in this res hall.

Even though Nelson is not the most lavish and expensive freshman dorm, I can proudly say that it made my freshman year. Besides the amazing staff always being there for you whenever you need them, they also aspire to bring us together ass a dorm community by sometimes having breakfast treats during finals or easter egg hunts. In Nelson you will have the opportunity to meet new people and trust me, you will not be disappointed in your choice.

Nelson at first was just the smallest and the cheapest dorm on campus. However, throughout my first and second semester it really became home with the room, bathroom and common rooms all working so well. The rooms and storage place are very workable. The bathroom are always impeccably clean (though for any tall girls, the showers are a little short) I don't want to leave and I hate the idea of having to make a different place work. Nelson is my home away from home!

I love Nelson, everyone is cool and nice. I would recommend every freshman to live in Nelson. Yes we have community bathrooms but you are most likely in there by yourself or with one other person. The floors are quite, and most of use keep our doors open to talk to each other.

I lived in Nelson for one semester (Aug. - Dec. 2019) and immediately moved out due to my high college tuition. Despite this, I mostly enjoyed my dorm without no roommates, which was no problem for me! Our RAs were personal and want to make sure that our mental health and academics were where they needed to be, especially during my dark times in-and-out of classes. The only negative I have is that the RAs didn't do much to resolve the loud noises during quiet hours; in fact, it seemed like they were okay with this type of behavior and joined in on it to on some occasions. On the positive side, the bathrooms were always clean and not as busy throughout the day/night with always-how showers. Maintenance was never a problem in my dorm (or Nelson as a whole) and were always eager to fix any minor convinces that might occur. I am currently living off-campus, but I hope that all the things I've mentioned here have changed or steadily improving for the incoming freshmen. I wish you all the best of luck, Class of 2024! It’s quiet in the nights so the noise levels are not to bad but overall everything is pretty great. They do a very good job of keeping it clean especially right now. Most people are so nice when it comes to opening the doors for each other as well and I think we are all conscious of how other people live here as well. There is great places to study or hang out with friends and this is my first experience living in a dorm which has turned out to be pretty great. It’s my home away from home.
