Anderson Dorm Reviews at AU

Loved it, it was definitely a traditional dorm experience and i enjoyed it a lot. The only downside is some of the dorms look directly into the quad and people do not mind their business (and will look in your room if your blinds are up). The common areas were clean, color coded, and cute.

Anderson is the nicest traditional-style dorm for freshmen. It was recently updated, so everything is new and in good condition. The rooms are pretty small, but there is so much storage. The bathrooms are small (only 3 showers), but this never seemed to cause a problem. The showers themselves are small though, and from what I can tell they are only cleaned weekly. They often conduct maintenance on the elevators, leaving one or two of them out of service at any given time. Those elevators are also very small, making quick travel difficult in busy periods (like right before or after class blocks). But overall, a great choice for freshman and is only second overall to Centennial.

It was definitely an experience. You can hear almost anything through the walls, I could slide a paper to the other room where the wall meets the window. I lived in terrace (the basement). I slept in a lofted bed and a few times I could hear rats running above me on the ceiling tiles. I believe there was a mold problem as well in the ceilings. The common room was newly renovated and so it was very nice, except when other people would make it a mess and throw up across the couch, up the walls and ceiling. What a freshman experience! Glad I have moved on from that place, but I would say it's better than Letts.

Honestly, I was a little nervous moving into my first dorm. Moving out of the house just seemed frightening and I was worried about my safety, as were my parents. However on moving day I could feel instant relief from all worries. There are cameras everywhere, and RA at the front, and it makes me feel so much better knowing I can go to sleep without having to worry about anything happening.

Anderson is right in the center of campus and is very convenient for students without a vehicle. I enjoy the large and spacious apartment style living. The apartments also come with a microwave, oven, and toaster which is nice.

Anderson is fun and the rooms make it fun to communicate and get closer to people. Because of Anderson, I was across my best friend's room so it was fun. Hopefully things will be fun next semester to see
