Newland Hall Dorm Reviews at App State

it was great! I loved my RA, I loved the location, the only problem was that the people on my floor never followed the rules about noise. Other than on my floor though, all the kids were great (nice, respectful) and the staff was great (chill and kind).

When I was in newland this past school year it wasn’t what I expected because of COVID things were different. It was quiet and you never really saw anybody. I wish that COVID didn’t affect my experience this past year but it did.

The maintenance staff were friendly as well as the RAs. However there were many room checks or just random maintenance staff coming into our rooms without us having any warning of it. Things were also not fixed in between semesters before moving in. Certain floors were noisy, the elevator was beyond slow and the common rooms weren't really spacious

Newland Hall has been the best dorm for my freshman experience. It is near all my classes and the rooms are so spacious. It is also amazing that there are no communal bathrooms. The best part of Newland is the side doors that give you easy access to enter or leave the dorm!

I really like living here because it is in a great location and the hall stays clean and quiet. Most people follow our school's and state's mask mandate, so I feel safe living here during the pandemic.
