West Hayden Hall Dorm Reviews at ASU

It is definitely an old school dorm. Two people to a room, and bathrooms down the hall, rather than the current style of suites with their own bathroom. I think it makes it much easier to be social with other people in the dorm and make friends though.

It was fun visiting West Hayden Hall there were so many welcoming roommates. It's by the Business campus so that's why I choose to stay there. It's fun and exciting to be living in a dorm especially with someone you know.

Dorm rooms are small and you do not have a private bathroom. There are communal bathrooms for all residents to use that are not kept up very well. There is not even a sink for you in your own room, so you have to walk down the hall in the morning just to go brush your teeth. Common areas are small and the communal kitchen is lackluster.

I lived in this dorm during the 2018-2019 school year. When we moved in, it was great. When winter came around, our heating stopped working and it never worked correctly after that. This also affected the water and we had to take cold showers for a couple months. Maintenance is super nice and accommodating and it's overall a great community to live in.

West Hayden Hall is in the lower left corner of campus making it far from many things but it is conveniently placed next the the Memorial Union which holds our main dinning hall Pitchforks. The bathrooms are not always clean and the drains clog up with hair and overflow quite ofter. Ive had many cockroaches in my showers and there is always the occasional overflowed toilet. My neighbors are all respectful and quiet however and we manage to have fun even with Covis-19 keeping us indoors. Often times there is a new message on my neighbors window made of sticky notes and a few hours later there in a response. It is a fun community just needs a bit of housekeeping.
