Residence Halls Unit 2 Dorm Reviews at UC Berkeley

Located very far from the main campus, unit 2 provides some sense of peace from the stress while still being close enough to fun places of action, like parties and academic events. It's a bit of a walk to classes, but the location is good relative to college of chemistry and engineering. You can get to the heart of campus or to farthest North end in 10 minutes if you power walk, which will take time to achieve. Very close to dining hall food, but not so much to fast food. Where time is of the essence, you often waste more time accessing the fun spots than others in Unit 3 and 1, but if you're looking for easy access to frats, unit 2 is way better than either and quieter.

My floor was always up till 2 am hanging out in the halls laughing and causing a ruckus. Most time coming back drunk but were still some cool people to chill with from time to time. The other people on the other side fo the hall were more relaxed and respectable to others

The residence hall isn't too far from UC Berkeley itself. I had an 8th floor room and the views were amazing, and just quite nice. The rooms weren't too small with nice sliding closets and a mini-fridge available for purchase.

I loved my experience at Unit 2 except for the experience of the COVID-19 pandemic. There are heavy restrictions and I am without roommates which is very unfortunate as I feel that I am missing out on the true college experience.

A pretty good place to have a college dorm experience! Being right on Dwight is super loud and being really close to People's Park was also difficult, but it was within walking/bussing distance from campus and I could stop at the Den to get coffee on my way to class.

Unit 2 is a nice residential hall, but the cost is pretty expensive. The building has nice views of the Bay Area and the other residents are pretty friendly. This year has been pretty quiet because of COVID-19, there are limited residents, and the common spaces are closed off. However, the bathrooms are really clean, there isn't as much noise to get distracted, and every room has been converted to a single with a personal mini fridge and microwave, so students can social distance.
