Thomas J. Kinghorn Hall Dorm Reviews at Ball State

I lived at Kinghorn during my last two years at Ball State and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a single room, so I had my own bedroom and shared the bathroom with one neighbor. The dorm was very quiet, which as an upperclassmen was very important to me. The small dining hall there is a nice, quick place. I just wish it was closer to my classes.

Kinghorn is a really nice hall and feels like a high class hotel. However, there are some minimal things that are frustrating: there are no towel racks in the rooms, bathrooms are shared between eight people (and are cleaned once weekly), there are no hand dryers or paper towel dispensers in the bathrooms, etc. Other than these small issues, great place to live and super central to campus buildings.

Kinghorn is a very nice dorm with ac and semi-private bathrooms. Every staff member is very helpful to whatever you made need. There are multiple lounges to study or hang out with friends in. In addition to the lounges, there are ping pong tables and pool tables throughout the dorm.

I could not be happier with living at Kinghorn last year. After living in the oldest dorm on campus Freshman year, Kinghorn was a massive step up. It has great common areas as well as a convenience store. The only minor downfall is the fact that it is located on the outskirts of campus, so it is about a 15-20 minute walk from there to North Quad or the Student Center. But, it is worth it in my opinion. It was also very clean and well kept. The restrooms were a big step up from my previous dorm.

Being here in Tomas J. Kinghorn Hall has been a great experience, especially through the whole Covid 19 journey. The staff and maintenance had done their best with keeping the residence in my hall safe and clean. As shown in the picture that is out Study Lounge and that is my favorite place to be because it quiet and peaceful in that room . In my opinion Kinghorn has to be one of the best Halls at Ball State.

Kinghorn hall has to be one of the newer remodeled dorms at Ball State. It is nicely equipped with newer TV's and the common rooms are also up to date. In a way, it resembles a hotel. I highly would recommend it to anyone new coming to Ball state.

Kinghorn hall is where my roommate and I became so close. Through high school I only knew we had mutual friends. When we got randomly selected together, we instantly became compatible living roommates. Kinghorn, the building itself, is so beautiful like an extravagant hotel with all the intricate windows.

I love Kinghorn Hall. The staff are amazing they’re very friendly and willing to help you academically and make sure you’re comfortable. The facility is very updated and easy to get around. I would stay in Kinghorn hall throughout my entire undergraduate program.

I am a current freshman living in Kinghorn and I love it! It is private, clean quiet and has Tom John Food Shop on the main level! Its a very secluded dorm and very safe. I have had zero issues with this dorm and suggest it highly when thinking about others.

2nd year at kinghorn and love everything about it!!! location is great!! having a bathroom with only 8 people is great and it is very private!! our RA is great and always willing to help out with difficult situations!!

It is somewhat confusing to get around the building at first. It also is not convenient to have all these students in this dorm and only one elevator; it is small and it breaks down easily. Also, since the doors are so heavy, students tend to let the door just slam when opening them. However, it is convenient to have a convenience store, Tom John's in the building and since the doors are so heavy I don't hear a lot of noise in my room.
