Stearns East Hall Dorm Reviews at CU Boulder

I enjoy the quietness of being off campus as well as the tight community created by living in a residential area. The commute can sometimes be inconvenient when the weather is inconvenient as well, but when the weather is nice walking is the best way to commute. The close proximity to the BOUND bus makes travels to target and other stores really easy. And for the building itself, I received a room with a lovely view and the staff the building is extremely kind as well.

This is definitely one of the more dated dorms CU offers. It is off-campus; the bus service they offer is *generally* reliable, and Stearns is the closest building to the WillVill bus stop. Compared to some of the other WillVill dorms, however, this one definitely has fewer amenities and more dated decor/architecture.

Steans east hall may be a little far from campus but it does have a great community. The people here are extremely friendly. It is a great place to observe the natural beauty of Boulder. The rooms while small, give you an at home feel and its definitely a good dorm.

Pretty good! There's a communal kitchen which is pretty nice. You can cook and/or chat with others in the kitchen area. Everyone is super nice and welcoming. Easy to make friends with the set up and atmosphere.

Stearns felt like its own community because it was off-campus, but the building is so old, it was falling apart. If I was going to live in another off-campus dorm I would definitely choose one of the newer dorms. At Stearns the tiles broke so easily, the common areas were small and not kept up very well, the elevator regularly broke down.

It really depends on your neighbors. I had nice neighbors so the experience was okay. It isn't great being that far off of campus but it is nice to have your own dining hall. There are nice common areas and study areas, the main thing that is bad is location.

pretty good! kinda far from main campus which sucks, but there are busses at least. The common area has a kitchen which is nice if you want to cook or just hang out, and there are also ping pong and air hockey tables

It's and engineering dorm, so don't expect crazy dorm parties or anything. It's a nice building and has decent rooms. The library on the top floor is really cool I like to study there. It is at a good distance from the dining hall in Williams Village, but it is also like a mile from campus, and the rec center in WillVill is boof.

The location off campus can be a bit annoying as you have to get onto the buff bus or ride a bike to your classes on main. However, the Will Vill campus is quiet and the proximity to the Will Vill dining hall and rec center is great. Being off the main campus also means that Will Vill is quiter than main. Will Vill North and East are the newest buildings on the Will Vill campus and have nice lobbies and clean restrooms. The lobbies in all the Will Vill buildings have games and kitchens in them except for the Darley towers. The large field outside on Will Vill is much larger than farrand field and has poles to hang up your hammock. Both the stearns towers have libraries at the top which give you a good place to study. Overall Will Vill is quite and has nice amenities but being away from main can be a bit of a hastle.

Dorms are stuck in the 1970s. My RA was more concerned with being cool than enforcing the rules. It was so loud most nights of the week til 2 AM that I couldn’t sleep with all the partying on my floor.
