Williams Village East Dorm Reviews at CU Boulder

I was fully expecting to be disgusted by my dorm room when I first came to CU. I had heard my parents' horror stories of scary roommates, cramped spaces, and food that was barely edible. That, however, was not the case for me. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming on my first day, even offering me a private tour since I had to move in early. The study areas and lobby were not only clean, but organized and clearly designed to make the building as welcoming as possible. All in all, I don't think my dorm experience could have been any better.

Williams Village East is the newest dorm at CU Boulder and for this reason, it offers amenities that other older dorms simply lack. The integration of technology is wonderful, for example, when you open your window the AC will shut off and the lights can be dimmed. The dorm is next to a beautiful field and the design is very pleasing.

This is a joint review for 2 separate halls. Brackett is an Engineering Specific dorm and one of the 4 dorms making up the historic Engineering Quad. This dorm is historic and centrally located, however it lacks air conditioning and has radiators as its heat source. It is immediately next to the Engineering building and close to other central campus buildings. Great for Freshman Experience. Williams Village East is the newest dorm on Campus and sits in the Williams Village complex. It is quiet and removed from campus, but has a campus operated bus route nearby which stops at many locations across the campus. The bathrooms in this dorm are much more private than typical dorms at CU Boulder and there are many common areas with whiteboard walls as well as TVs. There is a kitchen in the main lobby and a large study area. The front desk has many gaming systems and games available for checkout by residents.

This semester, despite covid I had a really good time in williams village east. Besides it being a little bit off campus, it has its own atmosphere. There is a dining hall (the best in my opinion), gym, and giant field that everyone in the surrounding dorms get to experience. The dorm itself is extremely nice. The bathrooms are all separate, giving much more privacy than other dorms, and the rooms are really nice with pretty wooden floors. The lobby is the main hang out of the building where there is a game room, a ping pong table, and many places to just socialize. I really had a good experience in Williams Village East between the people, food, activities, dorm room, and the location isn't as bad as people think.

I love living in Will Vill East. I was able to have a single form meaning I donβt have a room mate. I was excited because Iβd have my own space, but was worried that I wouldnβt have as many friends. But, with the amazing community at Will Ville, Iβve met a lot of great people. Also, I was a little worried about the community bathrooms, but they are better than I thought they would be. I love that there are separate bathroom spaces with a toilet, sink and shower so it feels more private. I also love the community areas because it gives others places for me and my friends to either hangout or even study!

It is a very nice dorm and is in great condition. Some cons would be that it is not on main campus however, the pros outweigh them greatly. I have had one bad encounter with the staff but other than that it has been great.

Williams Village East was a wonderful place to be introduced to the college experience. I lived with three other roommates in a spacious, well cleaned, quiet, and environmentally efficient dorm. There were many amenities including vending machines all around, a gym nearby, a large field just outside, hammocking areas, and so on. Incredible living experience.
