Mary Donlon Hall Dorm Reviews at Cornell

Though described as "the party dorm" amongst freshman buildings, the sense of community that is built among others in the dorm is much greater than anything I saw in other buildings. Find people that you get along with, and just spend time together in the lounge.

Overall great. Mary Donlon Hall is widely considered to be the "social dorm" but even if you do not like to party (as I did not really), the social scene is really engaging and special. I made most of my friends in Donlon and the design of the building encourages interaction with your floormates.

If you are a social person it is the perfect dorm for you. There is a lot of dorm activity and it is very fun. The staff are very nice as well and there are tons of common areas to study and hang out in.

Donlon is great. There are tons of kids in the building which makes for a very social experience. The lobby has seating to mingle or wait as well as a library if you don’t want to go all the way to central campus to study. The hall is also located right next to the campus convenience store and mail center where there is also a dining hall. There are three bathrooms to accommodate all genders or those who don’t identify on each floor. The RA’s are respectful and approachable. The common rooms are a bit dated, but spacious. I also think the bathrooms could be cleaned more than twice a week especially with covid; however, the cleaning staff are very hardworking and kind.

Donlon is known as the party down for a reason! If you are social and don’t need sleep and personal space this is the place to be. Not bad in my opinion, super great place to make friends. Live here if you are worried about the social life, there will alerts be something fun to do or a lobster to remove from a random sink at 3am.
