Piedmont Central Dorm Reviews at Georgia State

I would give Central and overall rating of 8/10. I think the personal bathrooms in the dorms could be updated a bit more, but overall I like it. The location being right across from the RaceTrac isn't for everyone so keep that in mind. The security in the building and in the dining hall is also very good in my opinion.

Overall a pleasant experience with clean dorms and kind RA's who look out for the students, the dangers outside of the building did cause concern for me and my family but other than that a decent dorm to live in.

It has been a joy living at piedmont central, and I believe it is the best dorms at Georgia State. It is very tidy, and there have been no issues. You would think being in the city it would be dangerous, but the college is overall pretty safe.

Very supportive during move-in. They take safety seriously! The affordable parking is not located far from the building for visitors. The RA is very helpful and provides good dorm support. It was my first choice.

The trash chute was constantly clogged, and they refused to bring other places to put trash. So, we were always stuck with garbage and a rotten smell in the building. To make matters worse, my room was the closest out of everyone to the trash chute. It was also a very dangerous area to live around for so much money.

Overall I had a great experience at piedmont central. Although it comes with the problems of living in the middle of the city right by racetrack. Extremely noisy, lots of homeless people. I also had problems with the water.

The dorm rooms were set up with 2 twin beds on opposite sides on the wall in each of the two rooms in the suite. There a big window in the middle that provided a nice view of the city and overall it had a nice apartment feel to it.

Great way to interact with friends and right in the city. Can't wait to tell upcoming freshman about this place! Friends are all around me who I can call family now. Diversity is at its highest here and it's amazing.

I haven't been there for long, but so far, it's cool. It's clean, and everyone is helpful. i was very skeptical of living somewhere other than home and meeting new people but they m,ade it very warm feeling for me.

I loved having a 2 person dorm room by myself! I never had a problem with bugs, leaks, or mold. The bathroom and shower are both nice and updated with good water pressure. The security to get into the dorm is very secure but Atlanta alone is still dangerous .

My experience at piedmont central was good. The location is not great only because there is a lot of homeless people around. The staff kept the building very clean at all times. It is the best out of Piedmont North and Piedmont Central.

I stayed at Piedmont Central during 2020-2021 and I really enjoyed it my experience. It helped me realize that I would want many roommates. The walls are a little thin so you may hear your neighbor. Also, there were constant issues with the fire alarm systems so I always had maintenance coming to my room at weird hours.

Definitely the cleanest dorm I have seen, providing a dining hall right underneath. The dining hall is the best out of the two additional ones in the surrounding dorms. It has a beautiful sky view from the top floor of downtown and the skyscrapers towering over downtown.

I love living in piedmont Central so far. I have had pretty good experience. It is pretty modern, rooms are a decadence size, and its clean. However, one thing I wish we had living there is a kitchen. Since we do not have kitchens we have to go downstairs to the dining hall to eat, which is not that bad.

My time at Piedmont Central was interesting. My personal experience with the dorm included extremely loud upstairs neighbors who did not quiet down even after my roommates and I reported them four times and a dorm lock that broke every two weeks. Other than these issues I do not have any complaints. The staff was nice and communicative, and the RAs on my floor were very good at their jobs. They helped remind the residents to fill out scholarship applications and the FAFSA whenever needed and they were very supportive of all of the residents including myself.

I like living at piedmont central because the noise levels are very low, therefore it is easy for me to study there instead of going to the library. My RA is also very nice and helpful when it comes to all the questions I have. Even with Covid, we are able to have online activities so that we can interact with other residents and build friendships during this time.

Piedmont Central, although aesthetically pleasing to the eye, was definitely built too quickly. Only one elevator worked (and the one that did seldom worked to its highest capacity), the alarm was set off several times, and some electrical sockets were upside down but even still, it was still a good experience overall. The washers and dryers on every floor was a blessing-- my main issue, however, was that the rooms were so small. You practically live in a box with another person. You essentially sleep in the same room with another person and on the otherside, you have two other people. It got a bit much with the shower situation and toilet paper, but the set up is better than the other freshman dorms. I do think they did have the best vegetarian options at the dining hall. It was hard to eat other places, but the dining hall at my dorm was the most consistent, though bland (it is dining hall food, afterall). No complaints about the cleanliness of it-- I never saw a bug or a messy area, unless it was from my horrific roommate (yikes!). Overall, it's a college dormitory. The location was definitely convenient and I met so many great people there! I loved it.

I love it ! The staff and RA’s are so friendly and welcoming. I live on the third floor and it’s always clean and neat . The dining halls always have a good variety of food to choose from . They have vegan options , and alternative options to account for everyone’s diet . The dining hall staff get to know you and make jokes to better your day.

It is very nice and clean, I enjoy it as a freshman for sure. There has been a few accidents and shootings outside my dorm, but it is in Atlanta so I can't blame it on the school. Overall I have really liked it and it has been very clean and safe.

Wonderful dorm for freshmen. Close to all classes and transit.Staff was very pleasant. Common areas for study were always clean. There are areas for student to relax after studying. I truly enjoyed my stint at Central.
