Twitchell Hall Dorm Reviews at Hampton

The location is amazing and it is truly the home by the sea. The proximity to the classroom and the other dorms is amazing. It is a female only dorm and I was hoping the bathrooms would be cleaner. The staff was okay - some are better than others. The common areas are clean enough as long as the students don't leave food around. Overall, it was a good experience.

I enjoyed my freshman year residing in twitchell hall, although it didn't have the cleanest people, there were always janitors constantly coming to make sure the hallways were cleaned up and smelling fresh.

Hands down the best female freshman dorm on campus! I absolutely loved it. It was recently renovated so there were minimal problems with the building. The rooms were a great size for two people and the bathrooms were nice and always kept clean. The atmosphere is amazing and the girls you live with in the building will become some of your close friends.

When I went to HU and I stayed in Twitchell, it was almost brand new from renovations. I stayed in a single dorm on the 5th floor. The elevator only goes to the 4th floor, so you have to take 2 small flights of stairs to the 5th floor. It wasn’t that bad considering I wanted a single dorm so the stairs wasn’t a problem, plus I didn’t bring a lot of things with me. The walls are pretty thin so you can hear whatever is going on in the next room at times, if they are loud. The bathrooms are small and not the regular typical community bathrooms. (5th floor had about less than 10 girls, there were single dorms and maybe two dorms with 2 girls each).

Living in Twitchell Hall my freshman year was definitely an advantage because of the remodeling that took place a couple years before. The only thing that was an annoyance was the placement of the dorm compared to the rest of the campus. We were toward the back of the campus and had to walk longer to get to classes.

Twitchell Hall at Hampton University was the best dorms that I lived in at Hampton University. I met all of my long terms sisters (friends) and my RA (residence assistant) was the most kind hearted and helping person I could ever meet. There were roommate issues and cleanliness issues that Twitchell experienced, but overall it was a home-like dorm and would of stayed there all 4 years if I could.

Twitchell Hall is a freshman girls dorm. The biggest thing to keep in kind is that this dorm holds the MOST amount of girls for freshman. There are definitely tighter knit dorms on campus. Rooms are recently renovated. With more girls, comes more to clean up throughout, so definitely keep that in mind when choosing a residence hall.

Twitchell hall was my dorm as a incoming freshman attending pre-college and for my freshman year. The experience their created lifelong friendships. We had events within the common areas allowing the transition to be more comfortable and easy. I believe Twitchell Hall was the best dorm on campus.

My experience at Twitchell Hall was pleasant. The dorm is shared living therefore, there are things that took place or did not take place that were not aligned with my housekeeping preferences. The major issue was cleanliness. I believe that since it is shared living it should be clean to diminish the cases of sickness, mold, and critters. Twitchell also had over 300 occupants so it was easy for girls who did not live there to enter the dorm in noticed during the day.
