BETHUNE ANNEX Dorm Reviews at Howard

It was overall a good experience, nothing too bad or too good. The staff was pleasant, and the rooms were good-sized, just a bit outdated. Cleanliness really depends on the other students not the cleaning staff, however, the staff were on site regularly and did make a big difference.

My current experience in Annex is great. The building manager does an excellent job managing the building. He is really nice and understanding but he is assertive when needed. Also my RA is great and she is easy to talk to and has been a great help with anything I needed.

It was pretty good I had a single here my first year but keep in mind it's not as modernized as the other dorms. The fire alarms also rarely go off here and they ago off ridiculously in other buildings.

Nice and quiet. Convenient location on campus, plus now has a cafeteria. Rooms are large and have air conditioning. Study rooms on virtually every floor, plus a decently sized common area in each suite as well.

Visitation needs to go we’re 18+ It’s not a daycare center. I got in trouble due to having to bring guests in without signing them in, actually having to do community service due to this. We are students of the campus and pose no threat a new system needs to be put in place.

Bethune Annex was overall a great place for me to stay for my first year on campus . We did not have any problems with rodents of any kind . It was usually quiet.Maintenance is very quick to fix small things that get broken.

Pros of staying in Bethune Annex is that the rooms are pretty spacious, people are very friendly, it right by a c store and one of the dining halls, and there is a washer and dryer on every floor. Some of the cons it that visitation is pretty strict (but annex is one of the easiest dorms to sneak into to), roaches and mice (not as bad as other dorms), and it has some maintenance issues. It is also one of the older dorms.

The EAST 6th floor was awesome. Maintenance was speedy and I could always call. They were very big of safety so there were lots of fire alarms in the middle of the night or early morning. The staff was friendly and my common area was usually clean.
