McCormick Student Village Dorm Reviews at IIT

The place is cheap in terms of dorms, but the rooms are smaller than what you're paying for. The rooms can be cozy depending on the hall that you're placed in. I was in grad hall and the place was clean and the bathroom was routinely cleaned. However, in other halls the restrooms weren't as clean as ours, some even having dark marks on the stalls and the walls close to the showers. but the overall rooms are nice for college.

The dorm itself is really cram for the price that is required to live there, but they also have faulty CO2 detectors since they always go off once a week. The common place is one of the best place in the building since you can hang out with your friends and is very cozy compared to the dorms. The showers aren't that bad, just it's hard to know how well the place is being cleaned since there would be the occasional mold next to vents.

It is a perfect place to live on your own for the first time. I am very satisfied with my living condition and will continue to live on campus the following years of college. I share a room and have communal bathrooms.

McCormick Student Village is a complex of student resident halls on Main Campus. Each hall has its own social center and study hallβso you can socialize, study or head to the Center Lounge to relax, unwind, or find a quiet place to concentrate on tomorrow's assignment. Residents on each floor typically set their own study hours and quiet times, and agree on other guidelines for conduct. Leaders from each hall belong to the Residence Hall Association (RHA), which helps organize intramural sports, concert outings, coffee houses, film screenings, and other social activities.

Overall okay. The bathrooms are clean but old. The stairs and walls are moldy. Everything is old. The building definitely needs a lot of renovation. But itβs comfortable and has a convenient location.

Overall, a nice experience. Staff friendly and trained to deal with the various situations that arose when lots of different people are living together. Maintenance could be a bit faster in fixing reported issues, but understandable, since it's a big place.

Standard Dorms, old furniture. Room wasn't clean when I moved in. Carpet floors. Communal bathrooms. Lots of common areas which is pretty nice. Located right next to the campus center which is super nice. Overall building is just old.
