Pennsylvania Avenue Residence Halls Dorm Reviews at University of Illinois

The halls are very nice with private, individual-use bathroom stalls shared with the rest of the floor. The bathrooms are cleaned daily and there is both an open and closed lounge in case someone wants to chat openly or find a quieter place to study. Since it is a bit further away from campus, the floor bonds and becomes close to one another, making it easier to form connections without having to go far. I have had a great experience so far and would consider living here another year.

I am a freshman here at PAR, and I think that it is a great place to live. The bathroom doors lock and include showers, and that is my favorite part. The custodial staff is amazing. You also have access to a food court without having to go outside!

The rooms were extremely small for the cost paid, some of the showers didn't have hot water, and the heat was on 24/7 during most of the 2 semesters without being able to adjust the temperatures so the window was open for most of the time there. The ac was nice for the 2 months we were allowed to use it and the short distance to the food court was helpful too. Even though we were on the far edge of the campus, buses ran 24/7 and you could always make it to class if you planned it out. The laundry rooms were always full and the washers destroyed a couple of pieces of clothing.

I really liked the food and the fact that they had dinner till 12pm. This especially was nice after late classes or late studying. Pretty much was the best thing about PAR was that there was always food available.

I really love living at this residence hall! It’s super quiet and the people are extremely nice. The staff cleans the dormitories daily and their are private bathrooms! I would really recommend living here if you attend the University of Illinois. The only downside is that it’s so far away from the rest of the campus.

There was a strong sense of community on my floor. All the students were able to connect with one another on different levels, creating lifelong relationships. We held each other accountable and were always there as helping hands for one another. If I were to choose a dorm to live in again, it would definitely be here!

Very nice environment and super quiet. The staff is nice and the hall is clean. It’s located further from campus than all the other dorms but you don’t even realize it when you start to live here. I would recommend living here.

I am very satisfied with this residence hall. Everyone is so friendly and it isn’t loud either. The bathrooms are private and they’re always clean. The food could be better but we are in a pandemic so the staff is doing the best they can.
