Self Hall Dorm Reviews at University of Kansas

It's like an apartment room, but on campus. The room is larger than the other halls on campus, but still maintains the advantages of a dorm, such as being placed near my classes and having easy access to campus dining.

My experience at Self Hall has been great so far. I have no problems or issues with any other students or staff. Having individual bathrooms is a plus for the dorm hall. Nearly everyone is respectful and there are never any problems with being too loud. Self and Oswald are also fairly new dorms, so they are very modern and pleasurable.

Was very good considering the price I would expect it to be. There are occasional noises outside, but with the window closed there is almost no noise. The staff are nice and the facility is very clea.

The dorms are very new, so the facilities are updated and nicely maintained. I really enjoy having a personal bathroom instead of a communal one. The building feels secure as you have to have a key card to get in. The staff are friendly and the floors are quiet. Maintenance is very efficient and replies quickly.

The rooms are very clean and spacious compared to other dorms on campus since they are newer. Each room has its own bathroom, so you do not have to worry about navigating a community bathroom. It is a co-ed dorm, so you make lots of friends with different people.

Self Hall is a very unique hall. The hallways and common grounds are often filled with students enjoying each others company or playing games. On the other hand, there are studious students who are sacrificing their spare time to work on their academics in the study rooms throughout the various floors.

I live living among other Engineering majors. The rooms are spacious and the common areas are large and bright. The laundry and printing are free. If not for COVID, this would be a great place for like-minded students to make friends and study together. It is within walking distance and travel to both sides of campus and near great cafeterias for eating.
