Commons 3 Dorm Reviews at Liberty

Commons 3 provided a friendly, open environment. This dorm is the top choice for a lot of freshmen and sophomores because it is an excellent place to make friends. It has an open common area that is composed of a balcony, 2 flat-screen TVs, various couches, and vending machines. This common area also works as a bridge between the male and female sides.

It's the best dorm and having my own bathroom in my room was awesome! I am in a corner room and have three windows and it feels supper open and is more comfortable than I ever imagined a dorm could be.

Commons 3 has been nothing but a positive experience. "The Shoe" as it's called is not any further than the other commons buildings. Perfect location. The amenities on each floor are outstanding and for a dorm room, it is a good size! You wouldn't believe how much you can get in there! I had a sectional couch! The balconies are great to overlook the lawn. Maintenance really keeps the place looking spotless. Last year there was some damage done to the hallways and so they just charged each resident in our hall $2.85 in order to fix it.

I would like to say that the commons is a perfect place to be especially when are a current freshman and have no experience being around others. Being within the commons dorm area students become comfortable and find a chance to interact with one another.

Commons 3 is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. The rooms are very nice and it’s awesome to have a personal bathroom. The one negative would be that each floor doesn’t have a joint boys-girls common room. Floor 1 does, but the rest have separate common rooms that don’t join.

Living in commons 3 made the transition to being a college student easier than I imagined. I never thought I would feel so at home at a place that was so far from my actual home. Commons 3 gets a bad wrap from every other dorm on campus, they pick on us and tease us but I personally think it's because they wish they could live with us. The community is amazing and it's easy to become friends with everyone you encounter living in commons 3. The leadership genuinely cares about each student living on the hall. You also get your own bathroom which is just the icing on the cake.

Physically speaking, Commons 3 was a great experience. 2 person dorms with a private bathroom, microwave and mini fridge. trash, laundry, and common rooms on each floor, and a quick elevator to whichever floor you need. However, socially, it was a terrible experience. I didn't make a single friend in my building that lasted more than a few weeks, and my common room was almost always empty. Hall events were attended by less than 1/4 of our hall, and the guys and girls are split up into 2 separate buildings that are only connected by 1 floor. I lived on floor 5, so in order to get to my "brother dorm", I had to take the elevator to floor 1, walk across to the guys side, and then take the guys elevator back up to floor 5 of their building.

This is my second year staying in Commons 3 and I love everything about it. It's the newest residential housing building and every room has it's own bathroom which is why I am paying extra to live here. The location is perfect and my window looks over the Vines Center, the Library and some of the main educational buildings. It's a short walk to most of the dining options and the center for outdoor events like movies and concerts on the lawn. The common areas are well kept and connect the guys and girls dorms on some of the floors and helps to build community. The laundry is on each floor and very convenient. Lastly, the medical facility and the post office are located in our building. I honestly can't think of one reason not to live in Commons 3, except for the cost.

Commons 3 aka the shoe is amazing I love it here the community here is unmatched by any other residence hall on campus we all have a great bond with each other and do alot of hall activities together the dorms are the newest on campus and very spacious

I LOVE the shoe, one of my favorite things is the common areas and being able to hang out with friends while still not having to have them in my room. ALSO did I mention you have your own bathroom! What could be better! The community just in this building is so good!
