Conolly Residence Hall Dorm Reviews at LIU

I'm a freshman so I was pretty excited to start dorming, and it's been a good experience so far. I (luckily) got a really nice roommate, when I've heard about roommate nightmares from my friends, so I was thankful. The floor has a community bathroom and all the floors are gendered. With how many people go in and out of the bathroom a day and more than 20 people a floor, the bathroom is very clean. The rooms are good with a few worn out amenities that can be fixed if you call in a work order and I have a nice view over the campus. There are no bugs and the school is pretty lenient when it comes to what you can bring to the dorm. Pretty good.

It’s a safe environment with lots of floors and only 3 elevators. It gets hectic during the fall semester and spring but you’ll get used to it. Lots to do especially in the game room on the the first floor.

It's a very nice residence hall, it's just very expensive for the services offered. Sometimes the lights don't work or the shower doesn't drain but it's very easy to get help from maintenance. It's located by the lecture halls and it has a laundry room in the basement (which probably needs some fixing).

I think coming to Brooklyn in 2007 was an exciting time. Overall the experience was great. Due to the location, the residence hall was strict on having company over. There was also no option for Sunday night guests. This ultimately forced me to seek for outside housing. I still reside in Brooklyn and could not be happier with my location.

I am currently a resident at Conolly Hall. When I use the bathrooms, common areas, or other available spaces in the hall, I am okay with the facilities. It is not the greatest place, but I enjoy the living space. I will say that the rooms are pretty big in comparison to other universities. I love that the cafeteria is in the same building. The elevators never seem to work, or always take a while, so I use the stairs a lot. The security guards are always there, which makes living there feel safer. I also enjoy the view. It can get very noisy with construction, but if you live on the opposite side, I guess it would not be much of a bother. All in all, I like living in Conolly because of the proximity of other buildings and cafeteria.

Connolly Hall has a great location in Brooklyn, and you can get a nice view of the New York City skyline from certain places within the dormitory. Some of the drawbacks are that the staff can be difficult and getting issues taken care of can be a challenge.

The food is gross and occasionally there’s flies swarming around the food, there’s always at least one elevator here that never works properly, maintenance has been slacking a bunch, and half the machines in the laundry room don’t work. I mean seriously what am I paying for??
