Dieseth Hall Dorm Reviews at Luther

I lived there for 2 years during my sophomore and junior year of college where I lived on the top floor (8th floor). The 8th floor was generally quite quiet and nice, but as you got lower in levels, the amount of noise and floor fines increased. Dieseth is generally known as the βparty dormβ out of the twin towers at Luther College where the upperclassman athletes mainly stayedβMiller Hall was the quieter dorm which consisted mainly of music students or STEM people. I thought the custodial staff were VERY nice and welcoming, and they always made sure to keep the dormβs common spaces clean and tidy. I became friends with a few of them during my time there! Bathrooms were nice (for a shared space), and I enjoyed how each shower was its own cubicle space rather than a curtain divider style. Overall a pretty decent place to live! :)

Dieseth hall is great for noise cancellation or a quiet space. It provides study locations for residents to work in groups or individually. The common areas are usually pretty clean (bathrooms can get messy), and the lounge area at the bottom of the building is very comfortable. Thereβs a tv and kitchen there, which offers a fun location for those who wish to cook or bake their own food! I havenβt had a situation where I didnβt feel safe here, the staff are extremely kind and welcoming! They only want the best for the residents. This includes the maintenance of the hall. The appliances work great, the only thing that I would say could make it better would be having an oven on the floors that have kitchenettes.

Living in towers is definitely something every student at Luther should do at some point in their 4 years at Luther. It is a great location near enough to the Caf, and a short walk down the hill to Regents Center. You will be living in the same building as many of your friends and. can take a short trip down the elevator or across Bruns to see even more!

Dieseth is a wonderful dorm with many floors and multiple common areas great for studying or hanging out with friends. The location is great for athletes since it is so close to the athletic center, but it can be quite far from some class buildings such as the music and arts buildings. I would definitely recommend Dieseth to a friend, though, because the staff work hard to make sure it is convenient and cleanly, and the RAs/Hall directors seem to truly care about students and maintain a professional relationship while being understanding.

Dieseth / Miller is known for being party dorms but the higher you go up in levels, the quieter it is. I live on the 6th floor is it is pretty quiet, clean, and neat. I totally recommend Dieseth for athletes, but you don't have to be an athlete to dorm there! I think the only thing that bummed me out was that the laundry rooms are located on the odd floors, which is the men's floor, whereas the women's floor gets a small kitchen. Besides that, the only other issue I have is that there is only one elevator from the first-eighth floor which is terrible for move in day because you have so many people moving in on that day.
