Nice because it's equidistant to both the dining halls. The social life is pretty average, there are people hanging around if that's what you want to do, but it's not totally in your face. Very nice facilities, especially bathrooms. Awesome that it has bike + ski lockers :)

The rooms are pretty small, especially the triples that have three people in them. The closets are tiny!! The paint comes off the walls pretty easy but they are very understanding about that. Built beautifully but certain things are a little odd.

Hyalite Hall is a brand new dorm to MSU this year (fall 2020). I was very impressed by the style and "newness" of the dorm. If you don't mind a little longer walk to classes this would be my top choice of dorms. A single, double and triple room are available to choose from. I was in a triple, but it was a bigger sized one making it extremely easy to live with two others in the same room. Everything in the hall is very easy to find and the staff is always helpful. With COVID Hyalite is very cautious and doesn't allow anyone in unless they live in the dorm. Compared to other dorms on campus, Hyalite was the most strict on the COVID rules.

My experience at Hyalite Hall was very good. The hall was brand new when I moved in therefore everything was nice and modern. The rooms usually stayed at a comfortable temperature even during the warmer days. The location is a 5-minute walk from both the dining halls.
