South Hedges Hall Dorm Reviews at Montana

South Hedges are old and loud. It's close to Roskie, which is very loud. There is asbestos in the ceilings on some of the floors. The dividers in the showers are short enough that people can make eye contact with the person showering next to them.

South Hedges Hall was very close to the MSU campus, all my classes were within five minutes of my dorm. South Hedges was a livable dorm and always seemed to be humming with people. The dorm staff were taking extra, unnecessary precautions because of COVID - for example closing off community spaces and amenities offered by the dorm like the kitchen and storage spaces. This made South Hedges a very cold place to be as it felt like residents were discouraged from interacting and there was nowhere to hang out.

The community that makes up south hedges hall has been amazing, the building itself, not so much. During the first week of school my roommate had a ceiling tile fall on him while he was laying in bed. The heating system is very old and often sounds like pots and pans being hit together.

Great spot on campus. Close to parking lots, main campus, and connected to dining hall. Not recommended for those less social. Usually pretty loud (especially on the weekend) and not the best for studying. Walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors all the time. Overall not the best for me, but those more social might enjoy.
