Corlew Hall Dorm Reviews at MTSU

Corlew Hall was one of the most mismanaged dorms on campus. We had at least 50 girls to a floor and the R.A. did not make sure things ran like they should. You could hear noise from other floors go on for a while. People who weren't from our floor would come to ours and play tricks and take things off from the doors and hide them. I had my airpods stolen from the bathroom when I left them there for about 5 minutes. It was taken off campus. Campus police did nothing about it.

I stayed in Corlew Hall during my freshman year at MTSU in 2020. The dorm capacity was cut in half due to COVID precautions, but the staff at Corlew were amazing. They still did fun activities during the holidays for example: a halloween door contest to see who could make the spookiest door. As a freshman, it was pretty easy to make friends, but since there's a dining area with a few places to eat connected to the back of Corlew, we had a lot of fire drills. So, if you do stay in Corlew make sure you take any tests in the library just in case.

The first semester I stayed there was great, however we had a new RA there the second semester who purposely started drama with the residents and failed health and safety for those she didn't like. Before all that, it was a good dorm to stay in.

Staying in a freshman dorm your freshman year is definitely the right choice. It's not glamorous, but you get to know people on your floor and make new friends right away. I'm sharing an apartment with a girl I met who lived all the way down the hallway. The bathrooms can get nasty sometimes, and freshman are loud, but it's the full freshman experience.

Given that i stayed in a dorm during a pandemic, my dorm experience was different from other freshman from previous years. For starters I didn’t have a roommate due to safety protocols, but i still stayed in touch with the girl that was going to be my roommate. Bathrooms, kitchen areas, and on floor laundry rooms were cleaned daily so there were never any gross encounters. If there was ever a maintenance issue, the maintenance crew would be fixing it within the hour of getting notified. Dorm room wise, the room size varies based on where you are on the floor but each room is well laid out. Each room also has an air conditioning unit so you can adjust the temperature to your liking. When it came to sound disturbances there were very few since you could only hear dorm mates music or tv shows when you were in the hall, not in your room. Overall, a good dorm experience and i’m glad i chose corlew hall!!

Overall I was very pleased with my stay at Corlew hall, the staff was very friendly and never made me feel uncomfortable even once. I still room with my roommate from my first year on campus. I would one hundred percent recommend these dorms to a friend.

Great Dorm Hall for a first time freshman. Located in the middle of campus so everything is a short walk away. It's also connected to a on-campus dining hall. The dorm is only for first time freshman only so it's nice that you will be bale to meet someone who is a freshman as well.

I feel like Corlew Hall is the best place to stay as a freshman. It is located in the middle of campus and is walking distance from everything. There is an RA at the front desk 24/7 to help with any of your basic needs. I wish it wasn’t a freshman only dorm so I could stay here my sophomore year too.

It's been nice, I have lots of fun at corlew. I've made a lot of friends and it's been really nice even though covid came around. We've been social distancing at our best and we keep everything sanitary as much as possible.
