Scarlett Commons Dorm Reviews at MTSU

I am an RA at Scarlett Commons. My own issue with this building is the safety we have around the buildings. Other than that, I love it! I would suggest it for anyone who wants to live on campus and have an apartment feel but also not be smack dab in the middle of all the students.

It has been very nice living in Scarlett Commons. I do not have many complaints. The neighbors can get a little noisy sometimes but it is usually not for long. It would be a little nicer if there was a dishwasher, but for an on-campus apartment, it is pretty decent.

Scarlett Commons is the most sought after dorms in MTSU. The kitchen is spacious and the rooms are really private with lockable bedroom doors. These apartments-style dorms are the most like an apartment, with an A/C unit for the entire apartment, unlike Womack, which has just built in space heaters and only one tiny window A/C unit built into the living room. The noise levels can be very extreme with all of the people who will blare music in their cars and have constant parties, so it isn't the best for people who are sensitive to loud noises. The maintenance of the apartments is pretty iffy when it comes to preparing for new residents. The floors were extremely dirty and the pipes to the kitchen sink has rusted through and needed to be replaced, so make sure to check everywhere for any issues. Other than that, the location of Scarlett is right behind the Student Union and pretty close to most of the main buildings for all of the general education classes and is only a ten minute walk to the current dining hall.
