Douglass Houghton Hall Dorm Reviews at MTU

They call it "harry potter" for a reason. It has an old, charming feel, but with that "charming-ness" comes a few issues. Dragging your belongings up three slights of old stairs, unclean/unkempt bathrooms, small study rooms, no dinners, no food on weekends (which when the hall committee complained about, we were laughed at by the school board), broken heaters, no ac (extremely hot in the summer), dirty saunas, "saloon" bathroom doors. The people there were amazing- you get to grow close bonds with other students and you're close to the M&M and Fisher, but the living conditions aren't worth it.

My RA was super cool and I enjoyed the experience. Only complaint is that my dorm was super small. on Thursday Nights they do a thing called Mac-Night where all of the RAs cook mac and cheese and its a great time to socialize and meet people.

Douglass Houghton Hall (DHH) is an awesome hall to live in. It is the oldest residence hall on campus, so there are some imperfections, but it adds character to the building. I enjoy the homey feel that the building possesses (and in my opinion, a very Harry Potter-y feel).
