Tinsley Hall Dorm Reviews at NAU

Tinsley hall was very typical dorm living experience, I met a lot of people and had a lot of fun living there. Safety was a concern a few moments of the year but they got that under wraps. Cleanliness of the first floor of Tinsley was really good, the bathrooms were recently renovated and nice compared to all the other dorms on campus.

I luckily roomed with someone that I went to highschool with, so that experience was fine. There were kids that would make messes in the community bathrooms and sometimes it would take awhile to clean up. But I assume that was just cause they were busy. It was really close to the food court and in the middle of campus so is pretty nice for any major.

Safety wise at Tinsley Hall was pretty good. There wasn't anything criminal that happened there. Noise wise it can get a little noisy a few times a week, most of the time a night. For me I got to know my RA. Tinsley Hall is located near the dining area and both sides do have bus stops.

I originally picked Tinsley hall because I liked the location of the hall but throughout the year there were many things that happened during the year that were many inconveniences. There were multiple fire alarms at times ranging from 4pm to 12am. And there was flooding and suspicious odors were we were evacuated multiple times. Lastly the laundry was very difficult, especially living on the 3rd floor because there is not a laundry room on the 3rd floor. We had 4 washers and dryers working for 3/4ths of the year and only at the end of the year we got new ones.

Staying at Tinsley is a blessing in disguise, its in the middle of campus so everything on north campus is within a reasonable walking distance and its not far from stores, like Target, so you can be in and out reasonably fast.

I loved the environment of Tinsley! Not too big and easy to navigate. The RAs were so amazing and chill. Shout out to lex! I made so many friends and had a blast. In this dorm, my floor became a big family. Rooms are pretty large and you have a large window, sink, bed, desk, and closet. A con is that bathrooms/showers, kitchen, and laundry are communal but I got used to it fast. lots of fun activities to get involved in if you might be worried about meeting people. I had a roommate I didn't know before and we are now best friends and still live together.

I met lots of great people in Tinsley that became lifelong friends. My RA was awesome and looked out for each of her residents. The location is in central campus and is close to food and other dorms. It was a great place to live.

Tinsley was a very good first home-away-from-home. I was able to meet really great people and complete my first year college with little to no stress. My RA was great, the location was great, and the peace of mind was great.

I loved my dorm experience. I liked how big the room where and if you had a problem with your roommate they did there best to help you. I loved my RA he was pretty chill. If the hall was being to loud we would all get email, same if there was something to do with safety. You where always in the know.

Staying at Tinsley Hall is comparable to living with younger siblings; there is never a moments peace. During my stay there has been a great deal of yelling and other questionable noise coming from the other residents. Finals week, although there was some improvement, proved the same results. My living experience at Tinsley Hall was unique in a negative light. I met a variety of people and learned how careless and inconsiderate people can be.

Tinsley Hall has been a nice place to live, but there are some people who don't respect the quiet hours and they will run down the hallways at 3am and be loud past midnight. It's not too bad and the bathrooms are usually kept clean. There have been a few instances where showers and bathrooms aren't as clean, but they are usually resolved within a day.

I would describe my experience at Tinsley Hall as quiet and peaceful. I know a few people in my hallway just because I've talked to them. The people here are nice and greet me when we're in the halls.

The people were great but the dorm was cramped. It was a three person room in a 2 person sized space. I would recommend only having 1 roommate per room. Also, always make sure to lock your door when you leave your room. There was a problem with men sneaking into girl rooms while the girls were in the bathroom.

it was a good first-time away from home experience. I met some good people that I still keep contact with, and overall it was a good experience. Being there felt very safe and welcoming. It was better than I expected for a freshman dorm.

People are fairly respectful and no major issues have come forth during my time here. The location is close to common stores students need and near many on campus food locations. Main issue is lack of AC so for the first few weeks the room was extremely warm. Also very low shower pressure on second floor; however, so far everything is pretty good here.
