Barbee Hall Dorm Reviews at NC A&T

My dorm room had a leaking air conditioner that ruined some of my personal items. It took over 3 weeks to get someone to fix the problem. Barbee Hall is a nice hall however; my experience with the air conditioner made it a bit undesireable. Other than that, I like Barbee Hall

The dorm is pretty old and needs major updating and repairs. It's a very social dorm. Very far from most classes and cafe. I like that it is a coed dorm. The dorm rooms are very tiny, but does the job.There could be more storage and better ventilation. The doors aren't very secure. All and all it is an okay Hall for my freshman year.

Barbee definitely gives you a fun and unique freshmen experience. You have to walk a while to get to almost everything but it's really fun. The rooms are pretty small but if you have a good roomate it's not bad. If you're high maintenance or know you're more on the boujee side I would say to stay not on the Southside of campus.

My experience with barbee hall was okay I wish it was better. My main issue is cleanliness and maintenance. When something is broken in the dorm and you report it and need it fixed they take months to try to repair it. (For example: Shower flooding, Broken sink faucets). And another issue is the students there also because they don’t keep it clean and they’ll take your clothes out the washing machine or dryer and throw them on the floor.

Barbee Hall is considered one of the best co-op housing dorms on campus, for the students that are very sociable and like to be around other people! It's mainly an outside type of dormitory, but of course the dorms where you sleep are inside units. To me, as an introvert I liked to be able to be in the mix without leaving my room most of the time because most events happened down below in the open outside area. The bathrooms are co-ed, so two showers and toilets for 8 girls (or boys) that's the only downside to it.

I think Barbee is a great choice if you don’t want to live in a traditional dorm, it’s suite style. I had a great time here, and it’s really a good dorm. Just learn to adjust to living with 7 people.

I would recommend Barbee to any new coming freshman. It is a great place to live. Although the rooms are small, if you have a good roommate there should be no problems. It is a very fun place to live. One of the most lit dorms.
