Chidley North Dorm Reviews at NCCU

My experience has been good. The only complaint I would have is, the distance to carry items from the parking areas to my dorm. My room mate match is great. The size of the dorm, and storage space is nice.

My dorm experience at North Carolina Central University was truly remarkable and immensely positive. From the moment I stepped foot on campus, I felt a sense of belonging and community within the dormitory halls. Living in the dorms provided me with the opportunity to form lifelong friendships. I was surrounded by fellow students who shared similar goals and aspirations, creating a supportive environment where we could navigate college life together. Late-night study sessions, impromptu movie nights, and heartfelt conversations in the common areas became cherished memories. The dormitory staff played a vital role in fostering a positive atmosphere. They were always available to lend a helping hand, whether it was addressing maintenance concerns or organizing community-building events. The Resident Assistants (RAs) were particularly instrumental in creating a sense of belonging, organizing social activities, and providing valuable guidance throughout the year. Furthermore, living on campus gave me convenient access to university resources and facilities. The proximity to classrooms, libraries, and campus amenities made it easier to immerse myself in academic pursuits and actively participate in campus activities. Beyond the practical benefits, living in the dorms allowed me to experience the vibrant social life that North Carolina Central University had to offer. Dormitory-wide events and organized outings helped me develop a strong social network and immerse myself in the campus community. Overall, my positive dorm experience at North Carolina Central University contributed significantly to my personal and academic growth. The bonds formed, the support received, and the memories created will forever hold a special place in my heart, reminding me of the transformative years spent on campus.

The building definitely needs work done especially to utilities such as the water, which constantly lacked in temperature and pressure throughout the floor. Additionally, the dorm is located on the edge of campus away from classes and the rest of campus, however they are building a new business building across the street so that is a plus for the future.

Chidley North was a great dorm, we had our own bathrooms inside of our room and it was one of the most updated out of all of the dorms on NCCU's campus. It was also clean. The only con about Chidley North is the location on campus. It was not close to any of the classroom buildings, library, or cafe. Overall, I loved my experience at Chidley North.

I feel very safe here because to get into the building and use the elevators you need to be a resident (have a keycard). The rooms keep noise in so I don’t hear my neighbors and we have personal bathrooms so our cleanliness is up to us.

For my first year here at NCCU I am grateful for having the opportunity to live here. Everyone is nice and friendly. The downside of living here may only be how far your room is from everything. I enjoy having the bathrooms in the room so it personally feels like a miniature apartment, minus the kitchen.
