Neptune North Hall Dorm Reviews at NIU

Overall Neptune North Hall is a good dorm to stay at because it is one of the cheapest halls on campus and is in a good location, near the student center and the library as well as near two bus stops. The location is safe and the environment is calm. The dorm could use some updating because it is an old building it needs maintenance but for the price of staying at the dorm and the location, the minor cosmetic inconveniences can be overlooked.

Neptune North, West, and East are all older buildings but conveniently located in the center of campus, less than 5 minutes from the library and the student center with all the buses. It is also the most affordable dorm. Community (Resident) Advisors were pretty good at enforcing policies and creating events Common areas have been going through upgrades for a few years so are starting to look nicer. East and West buildings are attached Neptune Central which has pianos, the front desk, a gaming space, a large fireplace lit in the winter time, and the dining hall. Only the first floors of the dorms are wheelchair/handicap accessible (Neptune East and West have elevators to the second floors that are not used for move ins, North has no elevators and only the basement/lower level is wheelchair accessible from outside).

it was good overall even though everyone was limited due to COVID-19 but things were relatively kept up with. But one can not really complain considering the price was the lowest on campus so it was good for a transfer student to get used to the atmosphere.
