Pinon Dorm Reviews at NMSU

It was great, I adapted well and everyone was nice (exceptions of some people). The facilities were clean most of the time, the staff was always helpful, specially the RAs. However, it was a bit noisy, but nothing you could not handle.

It was a lot different than what I expected because of Covid. I did not really enjoy being cooped up in my room everyday because of the fact that my classes were all online. Other than that I would definitely recommend piñon hall.

Pinon was overall a very nice dorm. I lived on the third floor so walking up the flights of stairs was a pain but other than that I loved living there. It always looked clean, the grass was taken care of, and it was decorated for each holiday. Staying at Pinon was a great experience.

Pinon is very spacious, quiet, and fun. There is a volleyball net, a kitchen, and a workout room. The room and the bathroom are both a great size and have a great set up! Everyone that I have met in Pinon is very nice and welcoming!

It's okay as a dormitory, it is reminiscent of prison halls of brutalist architecture where there would be a tower in the middle shining a light into prisoners' cell rooms, just without the pillar or jail doors. It's somewhat far removed from parts of campus so you do have to leave earlier than expected to reach a location on foot on time. The rooms themselves are decent, they are spacious, but if you lack a singular roommate, you are stuck with a ton of furniture you can't find uses for. It's definitely not worth the price, you can get something far better for much cheaper.

The outside patio is nice, but it can get loud at night. I wish the staff on dutywould work harder at keeping the quiet hours quiet. I do enjoy the location, it's pretty close to the athletics fields.

The experience at Pinon is very nice, I particularly like the outside aspect. Our patio on the inside has a volleyball net which is nice. The safety if excellent, cards are required to get to the patio and only residents have cards.
