The Commons Residence Hall Dorm Reviews at NSU

I occupied one room in a suite of 4 rooms. There were 2 bathrooms and I was assigned to the smaller of the 2. The room was very cold and needed extra blankets. The bed was too high and had to lower it when I arrived.

My experience at the commons residence halls was cool. It was my freshman year in college so my roommate and I became really close, the RA was nice as well. He helped us out in whatever situation we were in. The walls were a bit thin so you can hear everything that is going on in the other room, but overall it was great.

It was awesome.I loved the activities we had and how friendly people were. The only problem was the people who lived upstairs, the were really loud and sometimes I couldn’t get any sleep because of them

It has been a very different experience so far. I wish it was more flexibility for students to come in and out. I love my roommates but you should sign up early to get a good match....and you can make these request. Do not procrastinate. It is vital to do everything on time.

I lived in commons last year. It was very quiet except for my roommates and the people who lived above me, it had a nice environment and nice location. Possibly would have liked to have a kitchen in the common areas as we were the only residence hall without a kitchen.

It was great! I just wish there was a kitchen inside. The events at Commons are great and the residence hall is centrally located. I think this is a good place to stay if you are staying on campus for the first or second year. Afterwards, it is probably best to move to an on or off-campus apartment. It is much quieter when you live in an apartment style residence and you have much more space.

I love how I am able to have roommates but still have my own privacy. With COVID-19 we can't have any friends from on campus into our rooms which isn't ideal but I am happy I am able to live here. I would definitely recommend Commons to any one who is going to attend NSU.

My experience at the commons residence hall has been amazing. The security here is very good and there are always staff in the building that can help you if you ever forget your identification card or get locked out of your room. In addition, there are several washing machines that are free for student use any day of the week and the study rooms and community areas all follow safe Covid 19 guidelines for the safety of its students. Also, the noise is well maintained through quite hours around nighttime and loud sounds from nearby rooms are only occasional. As a result, I would definitely recommend this building to any future students living on campus.
