Lafayette Dorm Reviews at NYU

Although it is far from the main campus, the building itself is wonderful. I live on the 17th floor and have a beautiful view. The rooms are a great size, and I love having a kitchen. The common area on the ground floor is also great, and I make use of it, especially the music and dance rooms.

Lafayette is riddled with rats and roaches and is extremely overpriced. The rooms are large and spacious (if you're lucky), but the building is very old and has multiple flaws. Also, the neighborhood isn't the safest to be walking around late at night. I would recommend other options.

Lived there for one year while at NYU for undergrad. Was a decent space to live in but the building was a little bit old. Heaters were loud and annoying and some walls didnt reach the ceiling so privacy was not always possible.

My experience at Lafayette has been amazing considering the circumstances we are living in. Regardless of how the dorm is in comparison to others, the NYU community that exist hear is the reason I came to NYU.

The view is amazing and the ceilings are nice and high, but the bathroom is not the nicest and the immediate surrounding neighborhood is not great. I do love Chinatown and the proximity to the financial district. Overall, a good experience.

Lafayette has been a good fit this semester during the Covid pandemic. The location is convenient and the safety measures are excellent. For a dorm in the city, it is fairly quiet and has plenty of living space in the dorm room.

Lafayette during COVID-19 has been pretty smooth. The dorm takes virus safety very seriously, and proper measures have been put in place. The facilities are great, with functioning bathrooms and kitchens. There is a washer and dryer on each floor.
