Iba Hall Dorm Reviews at OSU

For the most part the hall is quiet during the weekends not many people are in the dorms so it tends to be even quieter. Whenever there is problem it is usually fixed in a timely manner and everyone respects other people. There is not many people that could be in this dorm which is very nice for cleanliness.

Iba Hall is a pretty good dorm to stay in. They clean the bathrooms every morning and the staff members are really nice. Sometimes it can get pretty loud, just depending on the people on the floor. Everyone likes to hang out together in the lounges and that gives you an opportunity to get to know the people that live around you. Overall, Iba is a fun place to live.

Rooms are clean upon arrival but very outdated and tiny. Boarding cost is considerately less in comparison to the suite style dorms on campus. Men's communal bathrooms are dirty with mold in the showers. There are no thermostats in rooms so you are at the mercy of the entire building temperature control. There is a community kitchen in the basement as well as free laundry room. Elevators work most of the time. Parking is limited right next to the building, but there is an overflow lot across the street. If you're looking to save money and are okay with very basic it's not a bad dorm. If you require a private room and/or bathroom, enroll early to have a better chance of getting into the suite dorms $$$$

I lived in Iba during my first year at OSU and I had a better experience than most. The basement was a very nice common space to hang out in and Iba Hall was very conveniently located in close proximity to my classes.

In Iba if you stay anywhere near the bathrooms you can heat everything in there. From the doors slamming to people talking so you can hear their whole conversations if they are loud enough. In the laundry room the washers work but don’t work. The compartment where you are supposed to put your laundry soap it just leaks as soon as you put the soap in so it’s just really annoying.

No matter how many times I told my RA about the bathroom noise complaint, they couldn't do much to get them to stop playing music. Sadly my room was directly across from the communal bathrooms. It's updated more than Wentz but still the exact setup. The elevator went out at least once a month. I never saw any cleaning staff except for when they would vacuum the hallways once a week at precisely 9 am during my one day to sleep in. Overall, it is still the best community dorm to stay in with a better location than the Commons.
