Zink-Allen Hall Dorm Reviews at OSU

The neighborhood Zink-Allen Hall resides in is very loud, especially in the evening and night time which can be quite annoying when trying to study or sleep. The building is always clean because of the amazing maintenance staff we have. The Zink-Allen Hall Resident Hall Committee is always having events to have students involved with each other. The only issue I have found with Zink Hall is the size of the laundry room and the people in the hall that use the laundry room, such as leaving wet clothes out, moving laundry when it is done, or opening the machine doors which pauses the laundry cycle. My Community Mentor is a nice, quiet guy who is willing to help us however he can.

I overall had a great experience living at Zink Allen Hall but I did have some rough experiences with a few roommates I had. Other than that I really enjoyed my experience and made long-lasting friendships through events held at the residence.

I had a great time living in Allen Hall with my three roommates. We had a great freshman year at college and I don't think I would change anything about it. I enjoyed the privacy of my own room while also having a common area to hang out with my roommates.

When I lived in Zink-Allen I had some friends who lived there too. I lived on the first floor and they lived on the second. We both enjoyed living there, the staff was nice and it wasn't too crazy. It was quiet when required.

Staying at Zink-Allen Hall definitely took away from the average college experience because you had 1 roommate and the two of you shared a bathroom. There was also a sink and a living room. I was a huge fan because I like my privacy. Only downside was limited washers and driers and the location. It's toward the back of campus, pretty far from the Student Union, BUT it was close to the gym which was a plus.

I lived in Zink-Allen freshman year and it was a really great place to live. I like having my own space so the separate rooms allowed me to have that. You only share a bathroom with one roommate so you can ensure itβs clean. You have a personal sink in your dorm, which is nice, but there is a shared hall kitchen if you prefer to cook your own food. It is a bit of a walk to the main campus buildings but only like 10-15 minutes.
