Smith-Steeb Hall Dorm Reviews at Ohio State

It was pretty pleasant, the staff were quick to fix things when they broke. The location is very good, it is close to many of the good food locations on campus and located near high street which contains many of the bars and other social areas of campus. Overall very good dorm for new students.

I really enjoyed my time at Smith-Steeb Hall, especially as an incoming freshman. The staff was always available and very kind and had a welcoming atmosphere that made it easy to ask for help when needed. The areas were clean and sanitized and put a large emphasis on safety, especially during COVID. The lounge areas and common areas were big and open, which made it nice to gather with friends in a socially distanced manner, and they had a modern feel to it, with whiteboards, cool chairs, and plenty of windows. My dorm room itself was spacious and clean, already living up to a nice experience considering other dorms some freshmen may be required to live in. Each room came with an air-purifier, which made the rooms way less stuffy and more comfortable to relax in without the fear of spreading COVID.

My experience was pretty awkward at Smith-Steeb Hall. I am a freshman majoring in Biochemistry. I thought Smith-Steeb hall was going to be a really quiet place but I was wrong. Majority of the students over there are political science majors and the place gets really noisy after 8 pm. However, the hall is quite luxurious than other dorm halls and is quite safe to live in. You get all types of facilities there and the people are very friendly. I know only one person who is majoring in Mechanical Engineering. So, I would not recommend for anyone majoring in STEM to live at Smith-Steeb hall.
