Atherton Hall Dorm Reviews at Penn State

Atherton Hall is a great dorm to study and spend time with friends, it is also close to downtown and isn't too far from most buildings. The gym is right across Atherton Hall, so you can hit a workout during the day. They also have terrific study rooms on the first and ground floors so you can make sure to get everything you need done.

I had a great experience in Atherton Hall. I would say that my only complaint would be that the doors had a vent in them that allowed a significant amount of noise in. The hallways echoed and so it was often very loud, especially on weekends.

As the home of the Schreyer Honors College students, the dormitory lobby and study rooms were exquisite and comfortable. The rooms were not air conditioned, but the bathrooms were always clean and private. The hall's location in proximity to the hub were also quite nice since I would meet with my friends to eat, hang out, or simply study.

Although only being my first college dorm, Atherton was the best dorm experience I could have imagined as a freshman. The building was usually quiet, the rooms were pretty nice, everyone was friendly, it was difficult to get in if you weren't a resident, and it was located perfectly on campus. My first weekend there I met about 20 people in the game room and remained good friends with a lot of them. I would definitely recommend Atherton to any student.

This is one of the nicest dorms on campus as far as the location and upkeep goes, but it has its issues. The heating system needs to be replaced very badly because it causes a lot of problems and it is very very old, but overall I have had a positive experience here.

I absolutely LOVED Atherton! The location and people were absolutely amazing, and I had some of the best experiences of my life there. Some drawbacks are that that although there are great single pod bathrooms, they are often dirty and have no paper towels or trash cans, and that it is a very old building that is not the most well-maintained. However, overall, I would highly recommend it to others.
