McElwain Hall Dorm Reviews at Penn State

I had the pleasure of living in 27 McElwain, located on the first floor. I felt very safe, and found my space to be a spacious room. Common rooms are a waste of space that were never used as intended.

McElwain has been a very good hall. Most of the issues have come from individual people's lack of cleanliness. The hardest part is that it does not have air conditioning which can be difficult during the summer months.

The location is excellent. Central campus so just about everything is reachable from there. The dorm rooms are a good size whether you have a single or double room. It can get hot at times so having a fan is a must. The ever so popular "K Floor" is the most sought after. It has an air conditioned hallway, more private bathrooms, and a full kitchen (all dorm residents have access to this). Some students can be a bit loud late at night (mostly on Fridays) but that's the worst of it.

RA's make or break how much you enjoy dorm living. McElwain is in the center of campus, making it a great location. Bathrooms are different on each floorβsometimes they're newer, sometimes they're older.
