Meredith South Residence Dorm Reviews at Purdue

It’s a fairly new building, pretty clean and friendly staff, no complains. The ambience is great, really good study spaces and places to hangout with friends. My favorite part was the single sound proof study rooms if you really needed to focus. There’s also a communal kitchen and the building has 2 retail food stores on the ground floor

i stayed at meredith south residence last year, during my freshman year of college at purdue. overall, i had an enjoyable experience, and vastly preferred this dorm to many of the other ones that were available

It was such a great community and I loved getting to meet new individuals, as well as interact with my dorm mates. The staff was nice and everything was usually kept cleanly. In addition, I felt safe in these dorms.

Meredith South Residence Hall is truly an amazing place. Staff is always friendly and the building is always clean and tidy. The other residents are super nice and helpful as well. I am so happy to be here.

Since the Meredith South Residence is new, I am the first person to stay in my room. It's very nice and clean, I haven't removed anything that I hung from the walls yet but I've heard that the paint tends to peel when removing things. Despite this, it's a nice building with a Panera and Qdoba on the first floor.

I am having a great experience. Meredith South is a new dorm with lots of study areas and opportunities to make friends due to "pod-style living". I feel comfortable and at home in my spacious room. I have amazing roommates that have made my experience great. I could not have asked for a better dorm to live in.

Overall, it's a really great dorm as it is the newest on campus currently. I have very minimal complaints, but I will say that while the room furniture/itself is very nice looking, it is somewhat cheap and is damaged quite easily (my furniture all has slight scratches and dents, some of which were there before I moved in even though it is brand new). Also, the bathrooms are not the best, they're kind of prone to being visibly dirty and the sinks are always covered in water, along with the fact that the hooks for the showers sometimes just fall off so your clothes/towel gets soaked in the water outside the shower (though rare, it has happened to me 2x already). The rooms are really spacious and the floors are really nice, it's a good aesthetic and I also love the location.

I really do love living in Meredith South, the location is great because I'm near the gym and plenty of places to eat dining courts and restaurants alike. I love that we have a Qdoba and Panera, but usually the lines are super super long so having them in our building really doesn't save you time if it's meal swipe hours. The bathrooms are usually pretty dirty, but that could just be the residents. However, the floors and sinks take forever to dry, and there is nowhere good to put stuff in the bathroom (like a shower caddy). It is nice that we have some private and communal bathrooms for all of us to use, so sometimes we can have a little more privacy. The common areas are nice, there's a TV on each floor for us, and I've used it before with some friends to watch movies and have a PowerPoint night. The rooms have a super high ceiling and I LOVE that I can half-loft my bed. It's great because you can use underneath for storage instead of living space if you want. There's virtually no built-in storage in the rooms besides the dresser, closet, and a side table thing with a drawer; the desk is just a table. It would have been nice if there were some floating shelves on the wall or something, or even a coat hook.

Very quiet, staff maintains things to a certain degree, however have an unknown schedule that's hard to gage. There's always at least one elevator out of order. Some restrictions are strict, but bathrooms work well and have no mold.

I love the study rooms at Meredith South they give me a quiet place to focus and that is especially important since most of our classes as online this semester. The communal televisions are also a very nice feature. I just wish I had been told what type of cable I need to connect my laptop to the televisions before I moved in.
