BLUMBERG HALL Dorm Reviews at Rose-Hulman

Blumberg Hall was quiet most of the time and was kept clean. Common areas and bathrooms had room for improvement but likely will be improved during the renovation taking place during the summer of 2023. Blumberg Hall is in a great location close to the SRC, dining hall, and not too far from the academic buildings. Blumberg Hall was also safe and well maintained.

It was nice and my roommate and I got along really well, but I hated the common area. The common area was loud and always smelled like BO. I liked my room set up, and the amenities were good and could be fixed quickly if needed. The bathrooms were hit or miss depending on which corner you got. The hall is getting renovated this year so hopefully the bathrooms with be better.

The dorms were nice to live in, but the lobby was taken over by the same 10 guys every day so there were rarely any places to work in there, but that was because of the people, not the dorm. The rooms were really nice: all of our stuff fit into them nicely and the room wasn't too cramped. The room doors were also very sound proof.

I loved staying in one of the triplets, and the building I was in has shaped the rest of my college experience. It's the last triplet to be renovated, so it will be much nicer in the '23-'24 school year and beyond. My closest friends lived in Blumberg with me, and I lived off-campus with them after that. The residence life staff is definitely what made my freshman year as great as it was. They encourage people to get out of their shells, try some new things, make new friends, and take break from homework every once in a while. Having sophomore advisors in the freshman halls is so central to Rose-Hulman's culture, and they are the one who led me to my best friends.

Blumberg Hall has been the best freshman residence hall experience that I could have asked for. The environment within the hall is amazing, and everyone truly cares for each other. The smaller hall makes all of the residence close with each other and the ResLife staff. I could not have asked for a better hall for my freshman year on Rose's campus.

I love Blumberg Hall. My SAs and RAs are fantastic people who genuinely care about our well being. The staff are all wonderful people. I have bumped into them a few times and they are always very helpful and willing to lend a helping hand. Even throughout covid, the dorm has staying clean and well kept. I have never had any reason to complain about my stay here.
