Angelo Roncalli Hall Dorm Reviews at Sacred Heart

Very fun, location isn't the best but the RA's made it a good time. Easy to make friends on the floor and cleaning staff was on top of their jobs. A little outdated, could use some remodeling but still kept in amazing condition, great way to introduce freshman students to the dorm life

It's a dorm that relies on its inhabitants. My peers and I wanted to create a friendly and accepting atmosphere. We made a community on the 7th floor that welcomed anybody from any floor or even dorm. We wanted to get to know and meet as many people as possible. Our shared living room space was perfect to watch sports games for the guys, watch movies and late-night shows for when the girls came to our side, and we played video games and fun board games that brought everyone together during their free time. We kept our rooms clean and decorated, so everyone had a place to sit and talk to each other throughout the day. The kitchen and bathrooms were respectfully clean to fulfill everyone's needs whether it be storing or cooking food, to taking a nice clean shower. And lastly, the community the RAs built were great. They included us not only within the dorm, but also within other clubs and activities on campus grounds. Overall, Roncalli Hall was a great experience that satisfies a freshman's needs when transitioning from high school to college.

The walk to and from the dorm can be a bit of a pain, however, the actual dorm is very nice. The dorm rooms are good sized and clean and you have the opportunity to meet lots of other students. The common areas are very big and allow for large gatherings.

I think Roncalli hall is a great residence for freshman and it is very easy to live here and a good location. I would recommend living here to a friend. I met a lot of great people here that will be my friends for a very long time. with 8 floors of dorm rooms, you get to meet a whole bunch of people and hang out with a lot of them.

I live on the tenth floor, so I only speak for it. Everyone is friendly up there and I get along nicely with my roommate and neighbors. The bathrooms are never busy and the staff is so nice to have a conversation with. I had a bug incident and they handle it professionally although that situation was minor. They assure you and always greet you. The views are nice too. Everyone who said they have been in this dorm loved it. It's not far from campus but just enough to get some rest. The only downfall is the location. When it's dark or have bad weather, it's a struggle to go out and get food, but if you do, you can walk it off.

Angelo Roncalli Hall has been the place where I met most of my friends at SHU. The building makes you feel comfortable and at home! It’s a safe place to hangout, study, and be at peace. With Covid putting restrictions on where we could go and who we can go with, meeting people in my dorm at Roncalli has helped me with the transition. Even though we can only stay in our “pods”, I wouldn’t want to be in any other building or apart of any other “pod.”

It is a wonderful building, even though it is a slight walk from campus it is not horrible. I love it here and the residents and staff are very sweet, kind, and caring. The security does there job very well and I never feel unsafe. It has a gym which is very nice.

I've overall had a positive experience living in Roncalli Hall. Everyone here is very nice and It is very clean and well maintained here. The only negative thing I have to say is that it is a little bit of a walk to get anywhere on campus because it is the only residence hall "off campus", but it's not too bad.

Roncalli Hall is a very safe, sanitary, and inclusive environment to be in. I have been in this residence hall for two years, and I have been really enjoying dorming here. The residence staff and security personnel take the time to address any concerns and help to facilitate a welcoming environment.
