Bellarmine Hall Dorm Reviews at SU

None of the freshman dorms are particularly great at Seattle University. Bell only has one kitchen in the basement, and it’s really old. The stairs are always locked, and the elevators are often crowded or out of order. The power went off multiple times, sometimes for an entire weekend while I was living there. The bathrooms are nice, probably the nicest in any freshman dorm hall. There also tends to be a Catholic minister living on each floor which feels uncomfortable as we were all barely 18 and no one was told this would be happening. The Dorms themselves run hot even in the middle of winter. The blinds don’t work in half the dorms. I will say that each dorm has a sink which is really nice for brushing teeth and washing dishes without walking to the communal bathrooms each time.

The handicap stalls need improvement, there needs to be a place to sit, and place for students to put their items when showering. Sometimes it can be really cold in the restrooms as well, and as winter rolls around, they should be heated. The amount of washers and dryers needs to increase so more students can do their laundry at a time. The location is convenient because it's almost in the middle of all the SU buildings and close to Starbucks. The elevators are janky and unreliable, but if we could improve them and add one more like Campion Hall, Bellarmine Hall would be ideal. The color of the halls at Bell are also so much more mature and calm, compared to Camp.

I started living in Bellarmine Hall when I started my Freshman year at Seattle University. I love living on campus because it’s easy for me to stay connected to current activities. In addition, walking to my classes or nearby restaurants for good food within 10 minutes is such an awesome benefit.

Bellarmine Hall was very convenient and accessible and was one of the newer halls on campus at the time of my attendance. I enjoyed the updated facilities, and the bathrooms on each floor were pretty nice. A couple of things that weren't very good was that the public kitchen was all the way in the basement, and was pretty subpar. Also, noise carried a lot so it was easy to get noise complaints. Overall a reasonably nice dorm.

Bellarmine Hall is a great place to make new friends and build relationships with new people. It is also mainly used for business major students, so it will be very helpful to make lifelong friends here at Bellarmine Hall. I highly recommend!

I'm living here during Covid-19 times so it's a bit different from how it was previously, but it's been really nice so far! The bathrooms are cleaned everyday (they're community bathrooms) and everyone gets their own fridge, microwave, bookshelves, and cork board. RAs and front desk staff are other students and positions you can apply for as well. Can get a bit noisy, but it's mostly quiet over weekdays. Would recommend blackout curtains if you don't like waking up early as the blinds don't block out the sun very well.
