Griesedieck Complex Dorm Reviews at SLU

I don't mind living in Griesedieck. I think that the rooms are a fairly good size for my roommate and I. I like how it it in the center of the campus and not too far from my classes. I also like how it is really close to the dining hall on campus.

It was great for the social aspect because so many students live in Griesiedieck's 16 total floors. It is also located right next to the dining hall and the student rec center so that's a huge upside.

I think it is a great dorm for the freshman experience, you make so many friends. It is your typical college freshman dorm, but depending on what floor you get it might be nicer. The staff and location is amazing.

Griesedieck is a good time. That is the best way to describe it. It is not the fanciest college dorm building in the world, but it does the job of providing a safe place to sleep and hang out. In reality I enjoy living in Greis, as it is commonly known, because it is simple and I like it that way.

I met a lot of exciting students throughout my time in Griesedieck Hall. The doors are not perfect at keeping sound out. The staff is kind and assertive when need be, which is great when protocol is not being followed.

It is hard as a sophomore who was supposed to study abroad this past semester living in a dorm, especially in a pandemic. Gries is okay but could always be better. The cleaning staff is wonderful! The freshman are sometimes loud but that is college. I wish our common areas could be opened

My room is spacious enough for 2 to live comfortably. It has a sink in the corner with a light, mirror, medicine cabinet, and storage space underneath. The A/C unit works well, and the furniture is all in good shape and working order. It's in a great location, close to the dining hall and student center.

It is centrally located and near everything I deem important. The only real thing I absolutely do not like is community bathrooms, but it’s cheaper than than the rooms with a bathroom attached, so I guess that’s good.

Griesedieck is a great place for freshmen to live because it forces you to get to know people. You're sharing bathrooms and crowded elevators with these people, which doesn't sound great, but is a great way to get to know people and it gives you the typical college experience people talk about. While sharing a small space with your roommate and using communal showers is a HUGE adjustment, there's a sense of community in Gries that you won't get in other buildings.
