Shaw Hall Dorm Reviews at Syracuse

I lived in the Engineering Living Learning Community in Shaw Hall. It was great. Having a dining hall attached to your dorm is the best. Also, living with other freshman engineers made adjustment Ig to college significantly easier.

Very nice dorm location for the first years. However food options are horrible. Shaw dining hall provides the worst food options and often leaves students hungry. It closes earlier than other dining halls and has no food options close by or added into the building like in Flint hall.

I had a great experience at Shaw Hall. It is very close to campus, the walk was very short, and it was a great place to meet people! The dining hall in shaw was the best, very clean and the food was great. My room was pretty small, but it was easy to maintain and the common spaces were great to do work. Bathrooms were the downside of Shaw Hall.

This is my second year at Shaw as an engineering student. It is great to be with likeminded students and it is super close to classes. There is also a dining hall attached, which makes it convenient

Great! No complaints! Everyone tries to help you feel comfortable. The dining hall is very close. The RA's are considerate and friendly. The engineering LLC is a great way to interact with people in your major.

There is a lot of diversity and learning communities. Its quiet and a good location on campus, also has a good dining hall. Most dining halls are crowded but Shaw remains quiet for the most part. The common rooms are also large and helpful with computers, printers, etc.

I had a very unique experience in Shaw Hall as a Music and Political Science major in a STEM building, however, Shaw opened me up to meeting so many individuals I would have otherwise never met because of our difference in major. My roommate in Shaw was a D1 rower and Aerospace Engineering major and we had absolutely nothing in common, but still are the closest of friends two years after living together. Shaw has a great location on campus and you will meet fantastic people.

I am currently a first-year at Syracuse University, and I love it here. COIVD has made things hard, but the staff in Shaw Hall, have been great and understanding. I have been locked out of my room at least ten times before the end of this semester. Every time I went downstairs to ask for a key to get in, they understood and helped me. I didn't feel judged or felt like I didn't belong, because of the staff.

As a first year student I would say I had a good experience at Shaw. They always make sure to try to do activities to include all students and make a community. Also it was always very clean which I appreciated and staff was always very friendly and helpful.
