New Hall South Dorm Reviews at Tennessee Tech

New Hall South allowed me to make many friends and connect on campus. My RA was super nice and welcoming as well. The events they hosted allowed me to make friends. The only down fall was the fact that the elevators did not work half the time and I lived on the forth floor.

The elevators are always broken. The washing machine flood from time to time. If I am paying $4000 in tuition I want to live in a facility that is functional. The safety here is good but could be better it would be easy for someone to enter the building by being let in by a student.

The new halls are really nice and the newest dormitory at Tech; they are only 11 years old I believe and they both have elevators. I liked the size of the rooms and that I had a bathroom in my room which was super convenient. The two main things I did not like was how thin the walls are and that there was only 1 laundry room. The walls were really thin and you could hear everything; that gets very annoying especially when you're trying to sleep. New Hall South had over 300 students and there needed to be more than 1 laundry room. Sometimes it took hours to do laundry. Overall, they are nice more expensive than the community but very nice.

The best part of New Hall South is probably having your own bathroom in your dorm room instead of the typical community bathroom. Not only is it more convenient but you do not have to worry about waiting for a shower.

The location is nice and safe. However, the place is over priced having you pay almost double(little over 4000 a year) what a normal dorm costs(2600 a year). Maintenance is completely non existent. My AC has been broken since the beginning of the year, and no one has come to fix it no matter how many times I ask. My bathroom is gone out as well and I now take showers in the dark. But at least New Hall South is safe. I never have to worry about any crime. Yet, I would never recommend this place to anyone unless they just had to have a dorm.

I really enjoyed being so close to my classes, the cafeteria, and the library. I also loved how spacious the room was and that I only had to share the bathroom with one person. Overall this form was great and I would definitely recommend it.

New Hall South is a great place to live. It is conveniently located near the quad and makes walking to class easy. It is especially nice to have you own bathroom that you only share with your roommate, instead of the typical dorm bathrooms for an entire hall!
