Talkington Dorm Reviews at Texas Tech

Love that we have our own rooms. It's not quite apartment living, but it's the best option for freshmen at Tech. I share a bathroom with one roommate and the common area with three roommates. Living with people you don't know is a little weird, but I have my own space in this dorm.

I loved this dorm and met some of my favorite people while living here. Very clean and staff are great! There is no better place to live as a incoming freshman at TTU on campus. You can't beat having your own room and sharing a bathroom with one other person. We had a big living room too!

It felt like staying in a hotel. It was great having my own space but still being able to connect with my roommates too. Talkington has the best food on campus and the location on the outskirts of campus made finding parking easier and it was nice getting a little exercise on my walk to class.

I really enjoyed staying at Talkington. Front desk was very nice. Maintenance was always on top of things. If you had an issue, they would be there next day. Overall, cleanliness was appreciated especially during COVID-19.

I loved that I could still have the dorm experience while still having my own room and bathroom! I made a large majority of all of my friends there and loved the roommates I was matched with. If I didn't live there my first year, my life now would look so different !

Talkington Hall is an apartment style dormitory. Residents have either one other or three other roommates, depending on the room layout assigned, with private bathrooms. This is a great option for students with limited or no transportation, as it is located on campus, and desire the privacy provided by off-campus apartments.

Talkington was a luxury dorm experience with a private bedroom and bathroom. It was so nice to share the bathroom with only one suite mate rather than everybody onto floor like regular dorms do. I moved from Stangel/Murdough halfway through the semester and have no regrets. The upcharge of Talkington vs the regular dorms is well worth it.

Talkington is a great dorm as you have your own bedroom and have to share your bathroom with your roommate. Even though it is a little expensive, it is worth it in the end. The amenities provided in the dorm are great like a full-size fridge a microwave which are a huge thing in college.

Talkington is really nice and provides personal space well still giving you the experience of having roommates. The staff is extremely friendly and it’s pretty close to everything on campus. We have a dining hall in residence and there are laundry rooms on each floor. There are also a lot of places to study.

I love being at Talkington, but often the students are loud around the dorm. Thankfully, the front desk and CAs are very helpful in asking the students to be quieter. They are also very responsive about issues within your dorm room. The shared facilities are incredibly clean and the maintenance/custodial team are awesome.
