Carmichael Hall Dorm Reviews at Tufts

Carmichael Hall is beautiful on the outside, but not so much on the inside. The common room is large and furnished, but on upper levels, they are practically non-existent, with just a couch and empty space. It is also quite dirty, with cockroaches and mice being seen on multiple occasions throughout my year there.

It was great getting to meet new people and make friends there. I would recommend if you want a freshman experience dorm, there are a few set backs though. You have a community bathroom which are kept clean for the most part. On the bright side UCA is remodeling Carmichale Hall so it will be extremely nice like all the rest.

On my side of the building, it's mostly quiet for most of the day. The bathrooms are quite decent with individual shower stall with two doors. The location of Carmichael is uphill and close to other freshman dorm buildings but one downside is that it's far away from food places on campus other than Carmichael Dining.

It can get dirty especially with all the food containers, but the cleaning staff work extremely hard and do a great job under the circumstances. Also the dining hall is right below. Uphill isn’t that great for any food other than the dining hall below, but it is really convenient.
