Tutwiler Dorm Reviews at University of Alabama

Tutwiler provides the most ideal college experience with its perfect location and amenities. I think the Tutwiler dorm, as a female, is not only safe, but is in a great location, provides opportunity to make friends, and is a short walking distance to many UA locations.

Tutwiler is an experience. There are nicer dorms on campus but people stay there for the tut experience. Tutwiler is an experience. There is no other way to describe it. Also only stay there if you plan on rushing, it is right next to sorority row which makes it perfect for that.

Tutwiler is honestly a great place to live your first year. It isn't a newer-looking building but I was satisfied with it in general. You do have community bathrooms, which I was not used to, but it was great. The rooms are fully furnished when you get there, but like most colleges, you are in charge of decorating and bringing cooking/cleaning supplies. The location is also great! You are near a bunch of eating spots.

The past year of living in Tutwiler, it is a very lively place but I normally like living in a quiet place this place isn’t for you. They make noise at all times of the night and the bathrooms are disgusting. The common area is pretty nice and the rooms are pretty big if you are living alone but the walls are thin so be careful of how loud you are or they will report you.

Tutwiler is one of the older dorms at the University of Alabama. It is an all-girls dorm and is very popular with the girls that rush. It has an exceptional location to sorority row and Bryant Denny Stadium. Living at Tutwiler allowed me to meet girls from all across the country and from many backgrounds. I had to adjust to sharing a room with someone that I just met, but my roommate and I got along very well, so my experience overall was a good one. The community bathrooms were a little on the gross side at times, especially on the weekends after girls went out partying for the night. Space in the room is limited, but my roommate and I made good use of storage under our beds and in pour closets. The best things about Tutwiler are the ability to meet people and interact with them daily and the convenience to the sorority houses(easy access to food for those on the Greek meal plan) and Bryant Denny Stadium. There was never a dull moment in Tut!

If you are coming to UA I recommend living in Tutwiler as a freshman. Your roommate will become your best friend, and you meet so many people. It is the total freshman experience. The location is great and you get over the community bathrooms.

Tutwiler was one of the main reasons I fell in love with the University of Alabama. I lived in room 706 with my crazy roommate Eliza who has turned out to be one of my best friends. As Tutwiler is all girl, it’s not hard to find comfort in this around you, as well as it’s extremely easy to make friends. That is exactly what happened to me on floor 7, I made some of the best friends I could as for. On top of the friendships, there was always something going on, and there was always someone to meet. Overall, my experience was a 10/10 in Tutwiler hall.

It is the full freshman experience at Alabama, definitely a bit old but there is a new one being built as we speak. Great location, but a lot of girls living in one area can become a little crazy. Has everything someone might need in a college dorm room

It was generally alright when I was there. It was a new experience as a freshman so I was excited. Bathrooms are communal and took some getting used to. Rooms are all tile floor so bring some rugs. Wall decor helps too.

My time at Tutwiler was always fun because all of my friends lived in the building, and it was fun to visit eachother by going in each others rooms. Also, the location was very good because it was buy the stadium, which made it very convienent for football games.

The noise level is very concerning. Most of the time I try to study, the room next to me is playing music so loud that I cannot concentrate. I grew up sharing a bathroom with my sister. I am not comfortable yet with the community bathroom situation. Some girls are very messy and immature. They leave used products all over the bathroom. The cleaning staff cannot keep up with the mess.

The staff at Tutwiler is very nice and patient and even though the security is good it could be better. The maintenance is okay at Tutwiler but it also could be improved as far as response to student issues. Maybe if they expanded their maintenance team so they could reach the students faster it would help because with so many students it is a bit difficult to help with every issue that arises.

The staff at Tutwiler is very nice and patient with the students and the environment is normally welcoming. The security is good but I feel it could be better. The maintenance could also be better but I understand with so many students it’s hard to keep up with all the issues.
