Mariposa Dorm Reviews at UC Merced

It’s a very beautiful place to live! You share a room with 2 other people and share a bathroom with another room who has 3 people. 6 people in total for a bathroom which is really big and nice. The dorms each have a sink which helps with cleanliness

I absolutely loved living in Mariposa. It was more of a quiet building. My favorite place to study was in the study lounges because they are super roomy and easy to focus in. Also, it was cool living with 2 other people that I got to know. Having our own bathroom instead of a community one was also an advantage. We did share with 3 other girls on the other side but it was still cool because I also got to meet them, my suite mates. I overall recommend living in this dorm.

I lived in Mariposa Hall my freshman year of college, and I had a good experience with it over all. The only thing is that the rooms are narrow and long. The bathroom is shared with 5 people, therefore its not as bad as sharing a bathroom with a whole floor. It was not always too noisy because it was one of the smaller halls on campus. The location was great because it was only about a 5 minute walk to classes, and it was right in front of the dinning hall. I would recommend dorming with friends or roomates that you like because it is a small space, and it helps to share it with people that you get along with.

My experience at Mariposa was great, but my only issue was my roommates. I did not get along with them very well so I was a little dissatisfied about living there. My dorm was small and did not provide us with an AC, so it was very hot inside and I had to rely on my fan a lot.
