Aberdeen Inverness Dorm Reviews at UC Riverside

So far AI is not bad. Obviously it wasn't my first choice but it's not the worst either. Cons: No kitchen, which makes it hard to make meals you're craving. Pros: it's really close to the gym and the part of UCR.

Very old building and physically it looks like an absolute prison in the halls, but one of the more social dorms and was great for me trying to make friends as a timid freshman. Very convenient in terms of distance to campus and dining hall. Despite the poor reputation I didn't mind living there at all.

I absolutely loved my experience at AI! I was blessed to be a part of a great hall that acted as a true community-- I know many others who would say the same for their halls! I remember the process of moving in and getting familiar with all the services and locations to be incredibly easy. I wish I could go back!

Staying here in Aberdeen Inverness, also known as AI, was something I thought I would not enjoy. However the staff and RA are always willing to help. The location of AI is also perfect being the closest dorm to campus, which is a great deal especially for first year students who are not familiar with the campus and may have class all the way on the other side of campus. AI is right across from the gym and close by one of the dining halls. Some classrooms, like my math class are so close by that it does not require any rush in the morning to walk over. Even though some people may argue that AI is the oldest dorm, it is probably for me a home like atmosphere because of so much spaces available whilst feeling that sense of independence. There are not a lot of floor levels which is great since I am the top floor and most the time do not use the elevator. For the people who live close by and need parents to drop off something, there is a clear section for cars to get by whereas the other dorms do not have this section for cars and must go across from AI to reach their child. I would definitely recommend AI to others because of the space the dorms provide, the kind staff, and the location of where the dorm is held.

I didn't expect much from this dorm since it's the oldest dorm at UC Riverside. However, the dorm turned out to be much worse than I had anticipated. Upon moving in, my friends and I fell ill due to the presence of mold in the vents. Despite filing reports, the school neglected to take any action, and instead gave us two options - vacate the dorm or handle the situation ourselves.

I loved Aberdeen-Invernes because of how social and diverse it was. I was able to make many friends and be very social with everyone. The RA was also very helpful and involved in making sure we were safe and satisfied.

Living at Aberdeen Inverness can be described as experiencing a typical U.S. college dorm. There is nothing special about these dorms and the facilities, but when compared to other dorms at UCR, this one pales in comparison due to its outdated style. However, disregarding any comparison, this dorm is well-maintained and is comfortable to live in.

The dormitory was the most lively between all the other dorms between 2018-2019 so, if any incoming students wanted a more social experience for their first year, I'd recommend going to AI. Not only is AI the most social but also the most affordable.

Although Aberdeen Inverness is the oldest dorm at UCR, it is definitely the best dorm to live in if you're looking for a social and fun dorm. Living in A-I was the best experience and I've made some of my best college memories there!

My experience forming at AI was very different from what I expected. I did not like how crammed the dorms are. The dorms can fit up to four people in a room and living with strangers in that dorm was disappointing.

My experience living at a floor-level hall was decent. It was close to the cafeteria. I will say living with three dormmates was rough considering it was such a small space. I was fortunate to have the space with the lower bed so my desk was right next to me and my closet as well. The bathrooms were very old and the stalls had those annoying gaps where people could see who was sitting on the toilet. The common areas were okay also. Very limited seating and just one TV that was on the floor.

I enjoyed my stay at Aberdeen, it was fairly close to campus and the amenities that the school offers. It’s convenient to food and necessities. It is the closest dorm to campus and has the best food out of the two restaurants the dorms has.

Very convenient location compared to the other dorms, but the dorm itself is very old and doesn't have the best facilities. The dorm also has it's own dining hall and Scotty's (Convenience store). The laundry machines are also very close to the dorm rooms too.
