Riker Hall Dorm Reviews at University of Florida

Riker hall has been great so far. The people are so kind here and we are like a huge friend group. We have movie nights and other events that go on around the area as well. Just a week ago we had an event called Ghoulbert which is only for the dorms in our area. It had a costume contest, a movie, and some free food. Everyone is very understanding of each other and try to get to know each other. The location is great too as it is right by the stadium and the dining hall. It's just a walk away from classes and any other important location. The building itself is on the older side where we have issues with plumbing and water but the staff are really kind when asked stuff to be fixed. The only issue is that maintenance can take a while so if you really need something done you have to put in an urgent request. Other than that though I would recommend this place to most of my friends because of the people and location.

I like that the building is closer to everything, but it does feel a little excluded from the main housing on campus. I like that we have our own bathrooms in our quad and that they have individual bathroom stalls on each floor if necessary.

Riker was great for game days, but it is a pretty old building. We didn't have elevators, and I was on the fourth floor! Also, it is a ways from the heart of campus, so if you walk to class you might need to leave early (or use RTS, which is always full once it gets to your stop). Again, living there for game days was a blessing!

I liked Riker Hall because there were great people that lived in my hallway. One thing I did not like about Riker Hall was how small the toilet stalls were in the bathroom, sometimes my knees would touch the door when using the bathroom. Overall, though it was a great experience!
